That is the one thing I miss from my childhood is my great grandma and me in the kitchen while she is teaching and telling me stories of the old ways. Being the only girl with 5 brothers, we learned so much from her and enjoyed sharing what was taught to us to our children, now we are enjoying our babies and helping them to teach their children. My great grandma always told us that we should always remember where we came from and knowing that we had many people fight to protect the land never take more than you and your family need, to always leave enough so the growth will continue and to always use great care and love for mother earth provides and shelter us. Ok, my great grandma said it better but I tried. I miss her

I can't really understand what your saying. The background music was too loud.

I can't hear much of anything over the music. If you are going to provide cooking instructions, stop the foreground music.

That would be known as a pastie in Australia, New Zealand & England if it had potatoes in it as well

How are you? I’m so happy 😁 to see Native Americans with KZbin Channels! My grandparents on my father’s side were from the Cherokee Nation! I’m only part Cherokee and I was not raised on the Reservation and I do not know the Culture! I am so sorry 😐! This dish looks good!!!

Thank you for the demonstration and recipe. My family and I are members of the Quapaw tribe of Oklahoma. We saw meat pies being sold at our annual pow-wow last night and wanted some but they were $5 each so I decided to attempt to make some. I cannot wait to give it a try. They sound and look delicious, thanks again and God bless.

Years ago I made bread with my hands then I bought a bread mixer. I avoid using my hands since then because I don't like the feel of the dough on my hands. Now we know why I am so stressed all the time. I used to make these, I think I will again. Thanks for the video.
