I have made this pattern and it is a fairly good pattern. I would say to take time with the pleats on the bodice as the can throw out the size if not done neatly, but a stead pace and careful planning should see it come together just fine. I also did not use the elastic as the material had quite a bit of stretch and did not require the elastic. If I made it again I would lengthen the sleeve to be full length.

So glad I came across your video. I had already cut out the fabric, but mislaid the instructions. Thank you so much, keen to get stitching now !

I love your style of sew-along. Very easy to follow. Also, this pattern looks very similar to the Vogue pattern V8896 just in a mock-wrap style 😊

Thanks for this. A very nice little dress which, in a plain colour way, would also make a lovely day to day dress. I’d probably raise the neckline a little. I know you said to play around with the stretch stitch size/length but I wondered what stitch - width and length - you used on your Singer? Thanks

Are Minerva fabrics sold by the meter or half meter?
@MinervaDotCom Жыл бұрын
Hello, the prices on our website are per metre. But you can buy in increments of 10cm 😊

I struggle with understanding how the trim is attached to the bodice front/neckline. Could you do a sample with plain, but completely contrasting fabrics so it's easier to see how to stitch it on? Thank you.
@BYBabbra Жыл бұрын
Hi Anne, the neckline trim is a little fidely. What I did was to pin it a couple of inches past the shoulder seam then pin at the bottom, then gently stretch the trim until it all seems even. Now if your an octopus the next step will be easy! try to pin the centre of the trim you just stretched out and then halve and halve until all of the trim is pinned ready to sew. Hope that makes sence, happy sewing 😀

I found the fabric a little difficult to work with and difficult to press being an advancing beginner!! I used a pressing cloth but still had the iron too hot and it caught some of the material. How did you press yours? Is it necessary to neaten the seams as material seems not to fray? I am half way through having just done the binding and am hoping the finished result will be okay. I do love the material!
