How to Make Nigerian Kunun Zaki for Sale | Best Kunun Zaki Production | Kunun Zaki Recipe
Kunun Zaki is a creamy, spicy and nutritious drink from Nigeria particularly from Northern Nigeria. It is very delicious and healthy because it is made with natural ingredients that nourish the body like guinea corn, millet, tigernut, cloves, ginger etc.
Learn this easy recipe of kunun zaki to make at home or for sale. Enjoy!
Ingredients
* Guinea Corn (dawa) - 1 mudu ( 0.17kg)
* Millet (Gero) - 1 mudu ( 0.17kg)
* Soya Beans (Waken soya) -1 cup
* Tigernut (Aya) - 1 cup
* Ginger ( Chita) 10 roots (depends on your tolerance)
* Ground Sweet Potatoes (Dankali) - 3 cups
* Cloves (Kananpari) - 4 tablespoons
* Black Pepper Corn (Mansoro) - 3 tablespoons
* Selim Pepper (Kimba) 6 medium sized
* Water

You are such a good teacher. I look forward to trying ds method by weekend. Usually I use only millet, potatoes and ginger. Can I do without d soya bean ( my kids.dont like it)? Pray I find the selling pepper and black pepper corn.

Thanks very much for this recipe. I haven't use soya beans before, but white and red guinea corn plus groundnut. And my auntie mixes the spices with a small part of the raw blended guinea corn when the kunu is warm or cold, but not when it's very hot. Please what quantity of date can be used for those who doesn't use sugar. Please can you help us with accurate measurement for all the ingredients? God bless you. Thanks 🙏

You need to soak the date... Remove the seed, blend and cook to make it a syrup

Thanks for watching. Selim pepper is the long one, it's called kimba in Hausa, it's a spice like cloves. Can be added in pepper soup for its flavour and taste but it doesn't replace scotch bonnet pepper.

I think there are different method of kunun zaki, I remembered 40 yrs back my grandma used to make it but after sieving everything, she will add sugar and heat it, when it becomes hot not boil, she will set it to cool then sieve it again and serve. I can't remember when last I taste it. Good recipe, pls make some northern nigeria drinks like siro, kwarbebe etc

Yes please but it has to be a strong blender, make sure you soak the dry ingredients well.

Yeah you can. Maybe a milk cup to 1 tier of the grains so it's not overwhelming

No it wouldn't if you store it in a very cold fridge.

@@joanpretty9910 You should add the 2nd one (raw one) cos that is what helps it to loosen up if not it will be like pap and you can't seive it. The trick to getting thick kunu is adding little water.

Putting the remaining one is the one that loosens the thickness, if you don't put if, it will be like pap and not produce any liquid. Add little water generally so you get thick kunu.
