Hello Spicy mustache! I enjoy the episode about pest control in a more organic way. I am always interested in this because it is a problem that I have with my plants. Here in Brazil we usually use Neem oil made from a seed as an organic repellent. My doubt is about another common pesticide practice here that is tobacco "tea", do you know this method?

I love your videos! I’m a fairly experienced garner but I always learn something from you so thank you for making them. I had no idea you could use Jerusalem artichokes this way, every year I have way too many to eat so this is a perfect use for them. I wanted to share something I’ve had success with. I’m in the American south but this might apply to your area as well; I plant beans around my tall plants like tomatoes and the bean flowers attract wasps which attack the tomato killing horn worms. I also load up any empty area with marigolds which seems to help. I’d love to know if you have any suggestions for vine boring worms (if you have them there). I haven’t been able to find a good natural solution and I also won’t use any poison and risk my bee buddies.

Thank you got the kind feedback, I really appreciate it! Also, I use the same methods but you could also use nasturtium, lavender and chives in the borders to repel pests. I’ve never seen those kind of worms over here so I’m not really sure about how to repel them 😊

Try weekly injections of BT in stem near entry point of borer. It's a bacteria that's only harmful to pest. Also let the vines send more roots down to prevent loss of plant if borer gets one root zone

Thank you mate! Yes, I use it in combo. However, I have to be honest but this last batch fermented so I’m using it as as JLF (still good tho). I used it mostly for aphids and black black flies and I find it more successful as prevention :)

may I ask what you think of ants, I have a lot of them in one part of the beds, I looked it up and some say just leave them it's only 'soil damage' and others say they drink the sap from the plants, don't like to kill anything if possible, as always thanks for your vids

Thank you for the feedback! I’d just leave them being but if you have too many, I’d try to use nematodes for a natural pest control. You can find them online and they work great :)

@A R Yes, I’m well aware of the eggshell solution. Unfortunately it is a large area and we would need a massive amount of eggshells. It is a good idea if it were just for a few plants in a smallish contained area though. Thank you for replying!👍
