hmmm that's a destructive and tedious way of doing that, instead you can; -go into your mods folder -into the unpacked folder (if it's not there, make it) -then make the folder structure the same as the zip (start with the zip file itself being the name of the root folder) -then take the files you want to modify from the zip, and put it in the appropriate folder -then you can edit things live in game, and hit ctrl+r in game to refresh after every time you save a change in a file when you're done, go into your mods manager in game, and pack the mod, and you give that .zip to anyone who wants it (do not manually zip the folder yourself, as this will confuse beamng, and become a nightmare). If you also want to undo your mod, you can just deactivate it in the mod manager in game too. If you want to modify an existing mod (or one that you've previously packed), don't unzip it to the unpacked folder yourself, use the mods manager in game to "unpack" the mod. If you don't do it this way, beamng can become confused and become a nightmare

Before you go insane trying to find the "differential" folder which appears at 9:43 for another car in order to access its driveshaft data, keep in mind it might be in the same folder as the car's engine. Such is the case when you attempt to edit the pickup engine, for instance.

im gonna document what happens as my dumbass tries this: - ok i make copy of vehicle folder - i realize i don't have winrar, i have 7z -i don't think notepad will work anymore i have to restart with notepad ++ -notepad++ website looks so sketchy, my PC will explode from virus -hirochi sunburst only has 1 engine simply labeled "sunburst_engine", this doesn't seem right - I renamed it "hacked engine" like a cool mf - made the torque x10 (not 100 like in the video because I want it to be somewhat drivable)(nvm i changed the torque to x100 anyways) - it goes up to 90000 rpm fuck whatever I said before this will explode the second I press on the gas - I should've put this on another car, the sunburst is my main car, I'm regretting this already -Im keeping the notepad++ open just in case -HELP THERES NO FINAL DRIVE FILE FOR THE SUNBURST -i gave up on finding the final drive, if it blows up, it blows up -ok i hack the driveshaft its time to *TeSt* -the second I installed the hacked engine the whole car exploded - I'm considering aborting this like your mother should've aborted you -the reason why the engine is so explosive is because the vibrations of it are so "overexaggerated" that it does a damn near 180 degree spin, exploding the hood off and shattering all the glass on the car -it breaks my engine, oilpan, induction system, and my left and right halfshafts... -im switching it back to normal, its 3am and I'm starting to hallucinate about the widgeon opening its trunk and forcing me in -I just spammed undo and tried to save it, one of the files is glitching and doesn't seem to save, it keeps trying to save as a separate file thather than just updating the archive file though it may work. time to *tEsT* and hopefully I haven't fucked it all up. I still have the backup but idk if that will even work considering my luck -it still says hacked engine and its fucked, I have to use backup file - wait... if I delete the vehicles file and replace it with the backup, will it delete all my damn configs, I had some legendary configs it better not have - LETS GOOOO!O!O!O!O!O!O!!1111 it didn't fucking implode the universe and my configs are still there -im never hacking again, too scary, at least I had a plan B... always have a plan B.. and C -gn

This is cool, but my problem is multiplayer. I take pride in having one of the fastest (if not the fastest) non-brain cars in Vanilla BeamMP. I have yet to be beat by any other vanilla tuned car in game. However, I have been beaten by modded cars, either by "illegally" loading mods into a vanilla server, or by modifying game files like this. It's easy to see if you do like me, and keep the power stats open in the UI, because if you switch to their car, and they're beating you with "stock" power levels, you know that it is not vanilla (also, if you spawn a mod, a message will show up in chat saying "*insert name* attempted to spawn an illegal vehicle". And if you call them out on it, they will either (stupidly) deny it, or they will say it's not cheating (in an otherwise vanilla server). And I know that sounds nit picky, but it just really grinds my gears. I constantly race my config, and tweak the suspension or drivetrain in the smallest amounts just to make it even a 10th of a second faster, only to get shit on by some dude who typed "5000" into a text box.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but for some reason when i changed the stuff inside the engine of the autobello, when I load the car in in the game the car spawns with no engine... and there's not even like an option for me to put an engine in the car anymore or better yet an engine slot. Like I removed the trunk and there's literally just nothing there. I'm gonna keep troubleshooting to see if I can find my own fix but for now I literally have no idea what I did wrong LOL
