here are some angry Italian comments I found, in case anyone else is looking for them. i only included the ones that seemed legit, some seemed fake. "wrong and disrespectful to 🇮🇹!" "go on making "parmesan" but, trust me, you are farest from PARMIGIANO and trust me once more, parmesan and parmigiano are absolutely not the same thing" "Quella e una caciotta no parmigiano!!!! Datti all ippica 😂😂😂" "Formaggio forse lo è, ma parmigiano no 😂" "I am here for the meme but first 30 seconds already wrong region. Parmigiano reggiano is from emilia-romagna, not Lombardia. Now I am pissed and my day is ruined" "It is not from LOMBARDIA area! The name show that come from Parma and Reggio that is in another region! For this reason only the product coming from that area could use the name Parmigiano, because what the cows are eating, the air, and other things make the difference" "NO NO NO NO NO !!!cos'è questo ??? pensi di poter fare la parmigiana?? il parmezan è prodotto solo in italia e solo in regioni molto specifiche che sono strettamente controllate e sì, sono qui anche a causa del meme e sì, sono anche arrabbiato ora che ho trovato questo vergognoso formaggio finto" ""Parmigiano REGGIANO is from LOMBARDY" ma cosa sta dicendo questo trappolaio? 😂" "Sir, parmigiano reggiano is not from lombardy but, as the name says from reggio Emilia, located in Emilia romagna.From lombardy comes the grana padano. Big difference in price, flavour, and of course price." "Non è così che si fa il vero parmigiano! Cavernicolo Australiano!" "I’m Italian and I have did a lot of cheese at home, your method it’s a little bit “creative” … also it’s a kind of “crime” to discard the siero which is the sort of water that results of the formation of the cagliata, it is because you can use it to do the ricotta " "Sono effettivamente italiano e sono arrabbiato!" another guy claimed to have found these: "Obviously you dont know much about making pesto either.........you really do not know much about the Italian culinary culture if you think pesto is made with parmesan cheese....look up the real recipe on how to make pesto......." "As the name says Parmigiano Reggiano is from the area around Parma and Reggio Emilia that ARE NOT in Lombardi region. The Region name is Emilia Romagna and Lombardi doesn't mean anythig the Region name is Lombardia and they don't make Parmigiano Reggiano. I'm from Reggio Emilia BTW" "You can only call it genuine if it comes from the certain area in Italy!" "this is fake. is impossible make """""parmesan""""" like italian . only in Emilia Romagna there are right becteria" "Tra l altro cazzo vuol dire parmesan?!" "The parmesan is plastic shit" also on archived versions of the page i found: "That's not parnesan!!!NON É PARMIGIANO CAZZO!" "my grandmother left to find you and when it does, she will grate your unfaithful soul" ""Parmigiano reggiano from lombardia area" absolutely wrong and The neapolitan tarantella in background comfirms this guy does not know what he talking about. Don't you dare call that thing "PARMIGIANO". Next video how to build a Ferrari with parts of an old Ford and still call it "Ferrari"."

As an Italian, there is nothing here to be angry about: he doesn't pretend to reproduce in his home the authentic Parmigiano as it's made in Italy, but "only" a "parmesan style cheese". So maximum respect for him, who manages to produce homemade cheeses: a very difficult skill that requires a lot of precision.

Hi, Gavin, beside being Italian I am also from the Parma region, and as a young boy I’ve help in a Parmigiano cheese factory. I am very impress with the cheese making process you have shown in the video. In a small scale it represents, right down to the temperatures used, on what is happening in the factory. I cannot understand some of the negative comments you received, some individuals are just idiots. Of course, yours is not THE Parmigiano Reggiano, but so what? You have made a cheese that resembles the original and I am also sure it tastes good. On being precise, the making of Parmigiano cheese is controlled all the way to the actual feed the cattle get and with favoring the evening milking vs morning milking. So again, good job on what you have done, and opinionated people....shame on you.

Look I'm Italian and I wanted to leave an angry comment just for the sake of the meme, but this man is so wholesome I cannot bring myself to do it. Also, even if Parmigiano Reggiano is unique and irreplaceable, this man is trying to replicate it at home, I believe this not only takes skills but also knowledge. But if you buy cheese, make sure to buy Parmigiano Reggiano and not "parmesan cheese" to support an endangered industry that produces one of the most amazing cheeses in the world. Ottimo lavoro bel, continua così, un bacio dall'Italia!
@SamsonGuest4 жыл бұрын
Is parmigiano reggiano actually an endangered product? I wasn't aware of that. I thought it's doing quite well despite all the knock offs.
@SamsonGuest4 жыл бұрын
@@hogasandrei2631 can you explain to me how it is endangered? From my understanding the fact that there are a lot of fakes of something doesn't make it endangered. There are a lot of fake Gucci belts, sunglasses and purses but Gucci is not an endangered brand. Are there actually dairies producing parmigiano regiano that had to shut down production or are close to shutting down, because they can't compete with the fakes? Or am I misunderstanding the word endangered? Do you have a different definition? I understand there are some elaborate fakes that try to imitate DOP parmigiano reggiano and even fake the logos and the identification on the rinds of the cheese, and I can see how this is taking a cut out of the margins of the industry. But I feel like the majority of fake "parmesan" doesnt even compete in the same market. Somebody who buys some inexpensive hard cheese to sprinkle over their pasta is probably not going to buy a +30€ DOP cheese instead for his pasta if the fakes are gone. They'll just use a different cheese. Same for restaurants and frozen food etc. Companies using a cheap cheese instead of a quality one will pick a different cheap cheese if no fakes are available. They are not suddenly going to make their cheap products much more expensive by using an authentic cheese. Maybe I'm wrong. It like to know more about it.
@Itzuki184 жыл бұрын

Basically most of the angry Italians are mad that the cheese is not from Lombardy or Parma, or that and I quote: "By law must be: no more than 20 hr old cow's skim milk, sale and rennet, nothing more, nothing less" so IT CAN'T LEGALLY BE CALLED parmesan, like it's an insult for you to make cheese that way and call it "Parmesan". Any Italian who slates this guy needs a lesson. In the EU you cannot brand Parmigiano Reggiano unless it it made in that specific region. In the ROTW you can do whatever you want as Parmigiano Reggiano is NOT recognised as a Brand Name legally. PARMESAN is a generic term for 'Parmigiano Reggiano' and as such the maker can call his version PARMESAN. He made it very clear it was 'his version' and so Italians need to grow up.

As a matter of fact, outside of Europe you can't do whatever you want, due to trade agreements. That's why the term Parmesan is used, cause you can't name it Parmigiano Reggiano. Same with blue cheese.

a few angry italian comments i found after 15 min of scrolling... 1.Obviously you dont know much about making pesto either.........you really do not know much about the Italian culinary culture if you think pesto is made with parmesan cheese....look up the real recipe on how to make pesto....... 2. As the name says Parmigiano Reggiano is from the area around Parma and Reggio Emilia that ARE NOT in Lombardi region. The Region name is Emilia Romagna and Lombardi doesn't mean anythig the Region name is Lombardia and they don't make Parmigiano Reggiano. I'm from Reggio Emilia BTW 3.You can only call it genuine if it comes from the certain area in Italy! 4. this is fake. is impossible make """""parmesan""""" like italian . only in Emilia Romagna there are right becteria and my favorite 5.Tra l altro cazzo vuol dire parmesan?! The parmesan is plastic shit

When I get pasta at a restaurant And the waiter comes around With the parmesan cheese And he says, Parmesan? And I say, Please He gives me a spoonful And says, Would you like more? And I say, Sure As if it's no big deal As if it's not my reason for Choosing an Italian restaurant in the first place He looks at me and says, Is that good? Yeah, that's good, thanks I always want more parmesan but I'm embarrassed I always want more parmesan but I'm embarrassed I'm embarrassed Why are they so stingy? Is there a shortage of parmesan? Is it really that expensive? I just want more cheese Is that so wrong? Just leave it at the table Let me serve myself for God's sake I'm a grown up I have rights And I will not be shamed for my cheese intake I always want more parmesan but I'm embarrassed I will not remain silent I will not give in I will die before I let Big Parma win I always want more parmesan but I'm embarrassed I always want more parmesan but I'm embarrassed I'm embarrassed I'm embarrassed So the next time you get pasta And the waiter comes around with the parmesan cheese And he says, Parmesan?
