Such a good and quick way to do pie cuts. I know it takes time to make a video, but with 55k views on a video that's 4 years old and the channel only has 416 subscribers... serious potential here and I'm thirsty to learn. Really hope I see more of this type of work from this channel.

How to do without a bandsaw is the thing I've been looking for

You can use a chop saw as they have mitering backstops. You can pick up used chop saws cheap. Principle is the same

@@krahnbuilt8272Sorry all I got is an angle grinder and no space or money to get a bandsaw or even chopsaw. Currently looking if I can make paper templates to wrap around the pipe.

@@krahnbuilt8272 I just used fusion 360 to make a pie cut paper template (22.5" degrees, this is for a bigger stovepipe) and it worked, some slight gaps but nothing that can't easily be welded

Very nice. Great explanation. I might suggest, why not use two pieces of 1 1/2” on each side of the pipe to mark opposite sides at 180 degrees? You could also use a small piece when positioning your piece on the saw to make sure your marks are horizontal. Just a thought from someone who does more woodworking than metal work.
