Thanks for a good demo. My wife and her friends are big time quilters, so this will make nice presents. She has also made pin cushions using sawdust for stuffing. I have plenty of that from my table saw. Best regards, Dan

Thanks for watching, it's a good use for random bits of wood, of which I seem to have many.

What is the purpose of adding steel wool to the stuffing?

It's an old trick that helps keep the pins and needles sharp, thanks for visiting

Thank you for the video. Great idea for small blanks! After you hollow the bowl and turn it to work on the bottom, how is it being held in the chuck? I'm a beginner and still learning all the ways of mounting blanks!
@shedandbeyond3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, I use a 4 jaw expanding chuck, which can either grip a piece of wood like a clamp or if you've hollowed out a piece of wood you can use the chuck to hold it by expanding it inside the bowl.

FYI, beautiful wood working, but the steel wool will rust and make a mess of everything!

Thanks for the tip, I will bear it mind, I did make my wife one years ago and its showing no signs of rust, thanks for watching
