I feel like it’s a 50/50 argument on if you need it. Did you just jump into FL with 0 prior production knowledge? I’ve never played an instrument or done any theory but i kinda feel like once you listen to enough music you kinda know theory? Like over years of listening to trap and stuff i’ve picked up on drum patterns and chords and things without ever having opened fl or playing piano. Big intervals at the bottom. Clusters at top. Basic chord+Fillers/Extensions/Color notes/Passing notes in between (whatever you wanna call them). Break the chord up so that not everything is playing all at once to give it some space.
