Wowzers, it's been a long time since I posted a video!
Those who follow my social media would have seen the plushies I've been making recently. I've had soooooooooo many people ask me how I make them, so I figured this would make a video tutorial about it. :D
The overall filming took about 18 hours, and I was able to edit it down to 35 minutes!
Woo!!!
I hope you enjoyed this video, as well as my improve shenanigans. XD

Thanks for watching!

👉 And a little word of advice, please don't use magnets or small parts in any plushie designed to be given to a child.
This video is marked as "not for children" for a reason.

@@honeyaroura6794 people can try and copy someone's style just by looking at their finished product but if you see the steps in making their exact items it becomes much easier. That's why I don't make tutorials on how I make my products. So it's really generous when people do cause they're risking the chance of cruddy people ripping off their style

Coming from someone who loves to sew (and wishes she had MORE TIME to do it) sometimes doing an “oopsies” and cutting out more than one piece or part of a pattern can be a life saver because in the event you do an “oopsies” while sewing and need to discard a piece, you have an extra without having to go back and recut it again! Of course, if you’re using a fabric that is particularly expensive or hard to find/purchase or you just wanna cut back on wasting your materials, you want to make sure you try to avoid this little mistake. However, if you’re as clumsy as me it can be pretty beneficial! Sidenote: my least favorite material to work with is felt. If you see too close to the edge it falls apart and your stitches come undone!

Huh. I like sewing with felt because, while the edges are pretty iffy, the final plush always feels nice and sturdy. Plus, you can needle-felt on some of those annoying tiny patterns and details! I guess it’s a matter of preference.

Another easy and useful stitch is the back stitch. Look it up but the gist is to sew to the start to point a. Them make point b behind the start and repeat, going back to the start of the last loop. It's an easy pattern and I use it for my sewing.

omg I'm so sorry I never saw this message! ;-; Sometimes youtube doesnt notify me. To answer your question, most of my materials I order online from Amazon. (Since I have 2-day prime shipping) but I also shop around local stores as well such as Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and Joaan Fabrics.

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve always loved plushies. Lately I’ve been wanting one that’s really “special” after losing my childhood plush from moving (he was a yellow lab named lucky. My nan got him for me at toys r us when I was around 8. He was the only yellow lab out of a large selection of multiple different breeds of dogs so I had to get him. ❤️ I lost him when I was 22)- so I thought maybe I should try making one! Learned some great tips here!

I just recently made my first sewn pillow in my sewing class! So I now know how to use a sewing machine! My mom got one but never learned how to use it, and never got rid of it. So now I'm off to find a simple plush pattern to make my own little plush! If I can find a velociraptor plush patter I can understand I will totally use this as reference to make a plush of my raptor sona!! :)

4:13 Using this small clip, it's best to make patterns that already consider seam allowance instead of adding it yourself when you trace the pattern. This will ensure that your seam allowance is even/equal and it's easier in case you do mess up the first time. Also, ensure that the marker/chalk/pencil you are using for tracing the pattern is meant for fabric and can easily be washed. Make sure you know the cleaning requirements for your plushies too since if you clean the plushy in hot water and it has cold water fabrics mixed in, you can potentially mess up the plush.

Handmade stuffed animals are the best because the maker/seamstress puts so much love into it. 💕I cannot get over how the ladder stitch pulls a seam closed so neatly, and perfectly! Thanks for sharing this video with us, he's such a cute plush. Did your nephew like it? Oh and sorry about that whole camera thing haha that's very frustrating.
