Hi Lea, yes I have a dehydrator and it is such a time saver for me...i used to wait around for such a long time in between layer of icing during decorating 😅 Now my dehydrator speeds up that process and no more waiting around for hours LOL 😁👍 , there is nothing really to show in a tutorial on how to use the dehydrator, they are pretty straight forward....you just put the cookies into one of the trays and let it run 😊 I always use the lowest setting on my dehydrator which is 35 degrees, and i don't leave my cookies in there any longer than 30-40 mins max! My timer is set at 30mins and it goes off after that time, unless i'm covering a very large cookie (approx the whole 4 inch or larger) i don't usually leave my cookie inside the dehydrator for longer than that as i only use it to dry the top layer of my icing so i can move on to my next step of decorating. Hope that helps 😉👍

Aww glad I can help my friend 😉👍💕 My dehydrator is honestly one of the best investment I have made in my kitchen equipment (next to my stand mixer of course) 😁 If you are looking to buy a dehydrator, I would highly recommend to get the one with the fan either at the top or at the back (not at the bottom) as we don't want the fan drying out your cookies from the bottom instead of drying the icing on the top of the cookie. Hope that makes sense 🤗🙌💞

Hey sweetie, the answer is definitely yes if you don't have a dehydrator. If you get impatient and try to do the next step before the previous icing is completely dry, you will most likely come across issues like colour bleeds. You are welcome to try and experiment with the length of time for waiting, as it may be different depending on the temperature of the room you are working in 😊

Hi Serene, Yes unfortunately you need to wait for that many hours if you don't use a dehydrator, if you continue to the next step when the icing is not completely dry, you will risk colour bleeding...specially if you add dark colour icing on top of white or light colours.
