Personally I think the hair might be much better as a simple plane mesh, but this is great stuff! Loved your texturing, you made everything incredibly simple to follow along with. Thank you!

I was able to get all the way to the head without watching a single second of the donut tutorial! this was kinda fast pace but it helped alot. Now if only i could extrude the chin without it rounding itself out, ill be good to go.

Is there any problem on the Gumroad page for your training course? I was able to download part 2 on texturing on my hard drive disk, but since last week, this video no longer appears in gumroad. There's only the UV video and Texturing Part 1. And in the “Animation” section, there's no video at all (I don't know if it's normal).

thanks for letting me know, let me check it out. could you send me an email at contact@thomaspotter.uk so i can help you further?

Wouldn't it be better to make clothes on a character right away, i.e. without making it as separate object? I struggled with rigging my character as body was clipping through the clothes. So I had to delete the parts under the clothes to fix it
@MoogieSROАй бұрын
Yeah, actual PS1 characters would not have any body geometry under the clothes. The poly budget was way too small for that kind of redundancy. Nothing about this video is PS1 style, tbh. It's just general "lowpoly".

Please teach us head with opening mouth and eyes in lowpoly please, I'm new subscriber here , I'm able to make any model in 290-500 polygons but I suck at head when I try to make eyes and mouth which can be blink and talk 😅

i might be able to make a video on that at some point

Hello with your low poly character course would you say its good for someone who's never learned blender ?

What's the difference between this tuto on YT and on Udemy or Gumroad?
@ThomasPotterАй бұрын
well the KZbin video is 15 minutes and the course is 7 hours, on gumroad you get the extra PS1 samurai recording with some more extras coming soon
@DkerzaАй бұрын
@@ThomasPotter how about the one on udemy
@ThomasPotter29 күн бұрын
You just don't get the extra ps1 samurai, the udemy thing is more of a test, just curious, how did you find out about the udemy version, I haven't promoted it at all
@Dkerza29 күн бұрын
@@ThomasPotter can you add it on udemy? It has regional pricing so itd be cheaper for me then on gumroad. I was looking for specific courses and yours showed up
@ThomasPotter29 күн бұрын
I do currently have regional pricing on Gumroad, only at 20% though. I'm not going to add the ps1 samurai on udemy as they pay next to nothing to the creators, currently I get paid about 10-20% the amount that I get from a gumroad sale.

I'm currently in the middle of the course, you teach very fast, for those who don't know anything about Blender, go and see a basic course because you'll run into trouble in this course.The teacher doesn't explain much and just does things quickly. I have some recommendations for the trainer, first: move the video a little more slowly and explain a little more, second: make a separate video for each task you teach in the training course, for example, making the upper body, a separate video, a separate video for the legs and...
@NikkieNikk-cn9vx16 күн бұрын
but i really learned something from your course its good
@ThomasPotter16 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, this is the first time I've made a course this length, I will do my best to improve in any future courses, especially if I create a course directed to beginners.

@plank898915 күн бұрын
Man the part where you explain how to do the head just ruins the whole video. Way too fast, you skip on multiple actions that you have made and it just leaves the viewer to guess wtf happened between the cuts. Otherwise pretty good. Thank you for taking the time to make the tutorial, but please make it a bit slower and properly show what you do.
@ThomasPotter14 күн бұрын
this isn't a step by step tutorial, this is to show the workflow of creating the character, the full character took 7 hours to teach to make. I can't show everything in a 15 minute video.

Making you videos on speed makes it harder to grasp and you will lose audience . Stop it . Its not a youtube growth hack dude
@ThomasPotter23 күн бұрын
I'm not trying to go for speed, this is just how long I wanted for the video, my other ps1 character videos were way shorter
