@@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri7309 i had a suspicion that was why, thank you for confirming it.. i make my kix plain a lot of times and just sorta toughen them up by getting them wet then letting them dry and have never really used flavoring so i was thinking either it was my hooks or the flavor weighed them down a bit p.s. guys since i didn't have any flavor to test out the weight thing i was thinking i used some chocolate syrup in my kix to see if it weighed them down any. while doing this i came to the realization if you want a chocolate pick up just get a box of cocoa puffs lol

For pond fishing for carp, the puffs would work better it seems, to keep the bait above the pond scum and in sight of carp on the surface.
@smerchly Жыл бұрын
By adding a split shot near the corn puff you can adjust it to be 1 inch or 5 inches from bottom . I like using them but they stopped selling them here in Niagara . I like baits that float as I can control the exact dept I want depending how clean the bottom is from algea or mud , ect . I have found that Cheerios float so I tie 2 pieces together with string and push my barbless hook through the knots in the string which hold it tight to the hook . The Cheerios softens quickly like the corn puffs which helps set the hook easily and very quick to remove without pliers. Cheers !

@@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri7309 I know what you are saying but some of these videos I have seen of people making pickups are insane. They leech stuff out for several minutes. Of course they are using dark colored flavorings so it shows up better but still it seems like the kix would be saturated.

Here in the south at most paylakes you can run 2 hooks. I like to use 1 of each types of pickups on each hook of the rig. Every time you go fishing the fish might not be acting the same. When I take a fish off I make note of which pickup is catching fish and adjust to it. Sometimes it works some times it dont make any difference. Just a suggest to the folks out there watching your channel. BTW....great vid.

@@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri7309 try a net without knots. That extra hook getting caught in the net has saved a lot of hands from having hooks in them from the fish flopping around. Not a bad thing to happen sometimes. I use both.
