I am amazed that I have never seen this design of 2-way valve before. It's really elegant and simple. One improvement would be to make the two grooves as part of a spiral so that the proportional range is larger (so that the ports open and close in the radial direction) . This would be trivial with a CNC mill, but I think that you could also do it by deliberately offsetting the rotor in a 4-jaw chuck, milling one groove then rotating the work in the chuck for the second groove.
@TinC335 жыл бұрын
True, easiest way to make extra grew is precission diamant file. I don't want to complicate in that video, i just show how to make most basic valve, without details, also didn't want to complicate with servo holder.
@asdf357504 жыл бұрын
Very nice! Just a note on marking out, if you use a single datum to make all measurements from you can minimise tolerance errors. In the case of the 4 positions on the chuck, if you measure 63, then 126 then 189 you will get better accuracy than measuring 63, 63, 63. Let's say your measurements are accurate to +/- 0.5mm due to slight errors in placing the ruler, lining up he pencil mark, the width of the pencil mark etc. (you can probably do better, but this is an example). By measuring 63, 63, 63, the last mark will have an error of +/- 1.5mm, whereas it will have an error of +/- 0.5mm if you make all the measurements from one end of the paper.

You say you are not mechanically trained, but your knowledge, insight and ability to move your thoughts to hard design is the first big step, sizes and detail, impressive, then forward to manufacture. truly brilliant, you deserve more recognition for your work. As a matter of interest which CAD package do you use?? I am conversant with AutoCAD and MicroStation, but I guess you are using a solids modelling package? really enjoy watching your stuff and seeing the execution into reality, I like the idea of a multiblock valve, seems the obvious direction, I have not researched online at the variety of designs, which I guess you have and replicated in miniature, again very well done, I will take pleasure in watching your other vids. I am envious of your workshop. I must do more. You mention your plans are available, that's very kind of you, but where to find them?? Take care and wish you good recovery.
