Do one of “The Local Project” videos! I like theirs more for some reason, similar to AD. This was great btw!

My favorite part of this video is the flat color grade. It's barely more saturated and contrasty than out of camera LOG curves give you. Certainly, that helps soften and retain those window views if you are going to shoot lights-off, and IMO adds to the very organic nature of the entire project. Could you imagine if this was a more vibrant, punchy grade? It wouldn't look or feel nearly as nice. My favorite part of the property is that there is a tiny patio off of the main living area to "stash your cigar smoking buddy." Boy, if that isn't a different set of problems! lol

My guess is they just use a defused key light from a distance when shooting the interview. So it is lighting the subject evenly.

Agreed, lighting makes everything easier once you get it set up !

Bonjour Taylor, very good video like always. Do you think a 9mmLaowa2.8 in apsc mode so 13.5 would be great for real estate. Not too wide ? thanks
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Жыл бұрын
That seems reasonable to me! I haven’t used one though. But especially if you’re filming in 4k the versatility to crop or not crop would be nice. Have you seen any reviews on whether or not it gets vignetting or distortion ? That’s the main thing I’d be concerned about going that wide. But their lenses are great 👌

Thanks for your insights Taylor. Really appreciate the effort you put into these videos, helping people like me build their understanding of the whole process. I was just watching a series by Huckberry Presents called dirt and feeling a little frustrated that I can’t get close to what they do. Then I saw the credits roll and realise that they had a team of 12 film professionals while I’m real estate agent with a load of gear from Amazon. However, all inspiring and something I hope I can use, if a little of the creativity absorbed on my next video. Ps.. if you’re ever in Europe, come to Montenegro 🇲🇪 you’ll love it.

Montenegro looks amazing! Thanks for the comment. Having a big group of specialists definitely helps make productions come to life! What kinds of things are you having a hard time pulling off that they do ??

@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo getting off Auto :o You gave me some advice about settings for a7siii and I just have to get my head around some trial and error. As a solo creator and presenter I found there was too much to frustrate me with Manual settings, but I think I have my head around it now as there aren’t as many variables once you get into it. One idea for your reaction could be hands on to help a struggling creator like myself. So… if you’re over this way I’ll see what I can do to help contribute to your stay ☺️ iPhone 14 pro helps the process, but I want to get hands on with the Sony. Learning that I never get enough B-Roll and if I do it’s not varied enough (tight, medium, wide). Certainly I’d like to move towards a more documentary style of video like the AD video. I find it quite engaging and a very subtle sell. Thanks for asking 🏆

Refreshing, so many real estate videos assume no-one will sit through something that isn't rushed with lots of jarring speed ramps. Maybe they're right but it gives me a headache. Some of the scenes have some jitters, especially pans and the crane shot and I see this on many YT videos. I also have this problem often with those clips on my drone; any idea why?
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Жыл бұрын
Yeah! I think it's due to lack of having an actual storyline (like most normal videos or films have) so all the tricks and trendy things have been made up to compensate for that to make them more engaging. For me, choppy footage usually happens when I don't use the right settings (180 degree shutter rule), slow footage down too much so don't have enough frames per second (below 24fps on a 24fps timeline) or if there's an issue with the export or uploading process. Do you use an ND for your exterior videos?
@alanabley525 Жыл бұрын
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Thanks for your reply. I have done much testing on my drone and don't notice any difference in using or not using the 180 rule unless something is close to the camera. Viewing this again there are jitters in many scenes; wondered if it's a You Tube problem as I've come across it often.

On this video some of it is probably from my screen recording. It's better on their page for most of it. Probably just a miscommunication between shooter & editor or something like that. KZbin definitely lowers quality too! I noticed it a lot when uploading my new video reel @@alanabley525 😥 I think Vimeo does a better job maintaining quality. I'd try checking those settings and your timeline settings to see if anything makes a difference with some tests and you should be ok!
