How did you extend the line at 2:38? Also my marvelous doesn't have that many tools above the 2d / 3d windows it only has one line, and the trace tool isn't in them.

Either drag that line completely or right-click on the line right-click (with edit pattern tool) then extend/trim - pattern outline. And there is trace tool in MD in the 2D window - 2nd section below slash and spread

What did you do to freeze everything at 4:59

I assigned a hotkey there. But you can select everything, in the 3d window, right-click on any pattern, and select freeze.
