I know this was meant to encourage friendships, but it really made me sad. As I listened, I tried so very hard to think of who my friends are and I really have none. I have been so absorbed in my family for such a long time, 30+ yrs, until I never stopped to form any type of meaning friendship. Now, I struggle communicating with others outside of my small family circle. I have got to reevaluate my life, so that I am more open to meeting new people and making new friends. 🙏🏿 Thank you Chrystal, I love listening to you and following you on all platforms.

Same for me I spent my adult life either trying to save family or having friends who weren't genuine and at 35 I have no one but my two kids and God. Its lonely. Where are my friends God?

Thank you Chrystal for sharing!!! We need to make space for other women whether it's friends or even mentoring the younger women! God will bring people into your life to do life with, but you have to be opened to be your authentic self, which does not have anything to do with what you wear, own, or drive. It's a heart thing and it is so needed. Life is a journey that is meant to share life with.

Thank you! As a 50+ woman, married 15 years: I admire those who have this kind of closeness! I had 2 best friends, one my bf like a brother since 6th grade & the other since high school. Only one I keep in touch. Friendships takes a lot of work especially building with women. Y’all make it look so easy, encourage all who can to go for it! Great video! Thanks!!

Thank you for this episode. I tried to count 5 deep friendships and I came up with 3.5…one of my friendships is changing after 40 years. It makes me sad but I am open to meet more people to connect with on a deeper level. It’s hard at 54 developing new friendships. I would love to hear more on how to cultivate new friendships at this age. 😊 Thank you for this content. It really is changing lives❤❤❤

I see friendship as a gift and it is an honor when someone trusts you with their true self/secrets. However, I believe too many people take their friendships for granted and don't put in the time yet expect the person to always be there. Friendship is like any other meaningful relationship. It takes the investment of time, genuine love, respect, grace, and kindness to keep it going through the seasons.

I just put a message in my group text to my oldest friends I’ve known since elementary school. We’ve been saying for 2 years now that we’re going to have brunch. I’m about to make this happen. Thanks Chrystal ❤

Well as usual Chrystal has done it again. My core has been thoughtfully shook! As inviting and engaging as this was I have been struggling to identify my core/my5/myvillage since the last episode about relationships that operate on those levels. Truthfully, many of my childhood friendships are out of state, and the ones I have where I live are more surface connections. Self examination is my truest first step.

This was good.....I have some friends from the past that resurfaced. I am in a busy season and weighing the question do I have time for a meaningful true friendship with them. However, I talk to my BFF in car rides alllllll the time. She jokingly says...." are you using me again".... my answer "Yelp!" But that's when we catch up on non-emergent things. Other friends we text and then do a face-time when big things happen and we meet (because we live in different states) once or twice a year.

As a single mom of 1 child who is now away at college , this hi home. Sadly i wasnt raised in a close family though there are 6 of us. So forming relationships has been difficult for me. In church as a single mom i always felt lookked down on and it was very difficult to find community there and still has been. Honestly, i dont have 5 women my age 60 i could call a best friebd. Sad but true. I had a lot of aquaintances but a lot were married, never made time to develop the relationship. Im a young 60 and most women i meet my age arent into the things i still actively do. Anyway, great podcast but i wonder how single mature women meet likeminded women to develop lasting relationships.

Ok so I know I’m not supposed to envy or be jealous but can I say I do towards my husband. Allow please explain? He’s had a couple of friends that he’s known over 40 years ( childhood friendships) and there isn’t a thing they wouldn’t do for each other. I on the other hand moved around a lot as a child and even into adulthood that I’ve never formed long term friendships like that. I so admire that wanted that for myself. On the flip side I have had friends where I feel it’s only been one sided. In a real friendship, shouldn’t both initiate time to be spent? Real question! It shouldn’t be one sided right?
@glenda7846
@glenda7846 Жыл бұрын
I llike and respect your honesty about jealousy instead of saying what sound good or Christian. Honesty is healing . Friendship definitely isn't one-sided. There needs to be a give and take like any other important relationship. For example, we go to work and get a paycheck. That's give and take. I wish you well. Friends are a necessity and it's worth it to do the work :)!
