For the portion of the cap that does not have the band cover it, do the raw edges have problems?
@YeleStitches Жыл бұрын
I believe not, because it would be at the back and also the band goes around the back of the head as well

I immediately subscribed love your energy ... if I'm making a 12 or 13 inch bonnet do I have to leave out the same amount for the elastic?

I’m grateful for the subscription! 😘. You can reduce that amount by 2-3 inches and reduce the elastic by 1 inch.

If u see the elastic down on end how can u keep adjusting it ?

I am not sure I understand the question. The other end of the elastic has a safety pin attached to it, so you can pull the elastic out

Subscribed!!! I am going to make one or one hundred of these beauties!!! Question, when you are doing the pleating, are you starting at the gathered part at the back and going around to the other gathered side? I didn't catch that in the video. Thank you!
@YeleStitches2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!!!!!!🥰🥰 So you know part of it is gathered with elastic. So yes you pleat from one end of the gathered elastic to the other. If there is any other question please let me know!😘

Hi, this video was interesting to watch, thanks for the tutorial. About the band, you made the sewing on the African print really neat and close to the edge and it also showed at the other side(the black side), was it also close to the edge and in place on the black side? Because I tried mine with two different colours of satin so it’ll be reversible, it was almost impossible making the sewing fall in place on both sides. If there’s a way to easily do this, please make a video on that. Thank you.
@YeleStitches3 жыл бұрын
Hello Pauline! Thank you so much for your lovely feedback 🥰. I would try my very best to see if I can make a video on that soon. In the interim though, you should pin your band to the bonnet very well, in such a way that your sewing at the front would land at the same side as the back.Also, use a zipper foot, so you can clearly see where you’re sewing. Last option is to not use a sewing machine to sew it at all, but use needle and thread to make invisible stitch ( you can see this at the end of my corset making tutorial where I used needle and thread to cover a zipper). The needle and thread option to me is by far the neatest, but it takes more time and patience 😓. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask!🥰

Hi, was the elastic the 1/4 inch non roll knit type Joann sells?
@YeleStitches3 жыл бұрын
Any size or type you use is fine, as long as it fits into the tunnel you made, and stretches well. In the video, I used a 1/4 inch elastic

Hello Julietta! I have a video on making a toddler bonnet where I talk about the different radii for bonnet sizes kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnm1iWWahtF2npI You can use same radius for each bonnet or increase by 0.5 I would advise 9 inches for the youngest and keep adding 0.5 to 1 inch all the way to the oldest.
