I am not Haitian, but I was married to a Haitian for 25 years. I have been to Haiti three times and hope to one day go as a missionary. OMG, I love Haitian food. My step daughter and her mom cooks the best. I can cook it somewhat. I am going to look at your videos over and over and over until I learn good. And you doe-doe's that are making stupid comments about how she speaks, go to Haiti and see how well you talk. I can understand "EVERYTHING" that she is saying and talking about. I wish that you were here to teach me personally. I can eat it everyday. Thank you so much for explaining it step-by-step.

Some you Haitian people in the comments so rude! Get a life. She did a great job. Cook your own food if you don't like her method or if she is speaking English. Mama ou pa t di ou si ou pa gen anyen bon pou di, pa di anyen!!! Always bringing each other down. Se sa ki "hont" 😒

I love your cooking... I cooked your rice and peas and honestly it's the best I ever had. You also taught me how to make epise... which I have in my refrigerator now. I am not Haitian but I love your food. Keep up the great work. Your an excellent cook and easy to follow. God bless!

Hello, I watch all of your videos. I really enjoy them. The black stuff you were talking about is called "cloves" in English. Keep posting Haitian cuisines. I am Haitian and have Haitian parents. I cook a lot in my house. So having different styles of cooking a dish is a plus. Thank you.

Thanks for this video! My favourite neighbours across the hall from me daughter made me my favourite dish Legume recently with the delicious jasmine white rice and the even more delicious creamy black bean sauce that I REALLY went crazy over. She told me how to make it, but I wasn't able to write it down so I'm very happy to discover your terrific channel and this recipe especially. I was with her dad (my friend and great neighbour) today and raved about his daughter's cooking telling him that his new son-in-law is very fortunate. If his daughter was 40 or older and single, I'd be his son-in-law instead! I MUST find a Haitian lady to marry who can cook these wonderful dishes for me so if you know anyone, hook me up Lol. Great video, I'm going to subscribe right now! THANKS!

Hi, I am very grateful for what you are doing...I just can't seem to follow all of your steps. some things are left out so... I'm kinda lost. Like what kind of rice you use and different things like that. Because some where in the middle of the video you put some plantains in prior to the ones that you cut up so I'm kind of confused. Please help I really would like to make this but I just need to know all of the steps. Also is there a substitute for the coconut stuff that you used? What is it? and where can I get it because i'm in the u.s.a and in the Virginia
@thereturnable10 жыл бұрын
Hello, I'm glad you really enjoy my videos :D sorry if you find the video a bit confusing. In this video the kind of rice I use is brown balsamic rice as for the coconut milk it was just frozen but you can use fresh coconut milk if you like but you can just substitute the milk for water.
