How to Make Scones || Two Flavors!

Learn how to make orange cranberry and chocolate chip scones! These are perfect for high tea, a snack, a picnic, or maybe you just want to eat scones for dinner -- don't let anyone tell you when you can and can't eat scones ;)
** Full Recipe **
For one batch of scones (one of the bowls in the video):
2 C. flour
1/3 C. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Whisk together dry ingredients.
1/2 C. cold butter
Cut butter into the dry ingredients until the butter pieces are pebble sized.
Whisk in inclusions*
* For orange cranberry scones, add 1/2 C. chopped dried cranberries and the zest of 1 orange
* For chocolate chip scones, add 1/2 C. chocolate chips
(Or get creative and invent your own scone flavor!)
In a separate bowl, beat together:
1 egg
1/2 C. cream
1 tsp. vanilla
(1/2 tsp. almond extract - for the chocolate chip scones only)
Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
On a buttered and floured baking sheet, form the dough into a thick circle and cut into pieces. Separate the pieces from each other. Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to chill the butter. This will prevent the scones from spreading too much while baking.
Brush the scones with:
1-2 Tbs. cream
Sprinkle them with sugar, and bake at 400°F (204°C) for 18-20 minutes. Once they’re done baking, you can cover them in a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk if desired.
