May I just say that this tutorial is so clever and mind blowing! I have been sitting at my cutting table wishing I had weights to hold my pattern in place. When I looked into the cost of manufactured weights, I was stunned. The price for just four weights is too much for my pocketbook. I thank you, thank you, thank you for this marvelous idea. I have everything to start making my own weights right here in my craft room. Thank you for sharing this idea on KZbin.

Scrap fabric and some metal bolts, screws or nuts in the middle works well too as filling :)

Great tutorial. I filled mine with the "glass gems" used to fill vases.

I made them 1/2 the size to and used fishtank stones instead of rice since I had it on hand! (No worries or mice lol) and I also throw 4 in my D&D bag to hold down out map since it likes to curl! The stones male it safe if we get it wet becuase we use wet erase markers!

using them to hold down maps while playing d&d is genius! I just made full sized ones but now I'm wondering if I need half sized ones too!

Seen ball bearings used, but I’ve used old copper coins as they are cheaper than buying ball bearings 😊

@@wendycollins3507 Thanks for the suggestion - in the interim I’ve read about and purchased shot balls. And found this weight suggestion - I need to bulk out with polystyrene balls. Success!

Can u replace rice with other material, to avoid wastage of food and insects development inside the small bag,.
@HelloSewing
@HelloSewing 2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. Just make sure that each weight is between 50 and 100grams (2 to 4 oz) depending on what you want to keep from shuffling

Smal beads, pebbles or anything that is not good or sand. Rice is a terrible filler sand is a nightmare.
