made it basically the same, your right on the money on how to make it!just a few extra steps i made after a few trial and error experiments- just superglue the wood to the base of the core flute, hot glue gun on seams then reinforced with tape.once poured gently lift and tap on bench to settle the silicon and get rid of any bubbles, another step i did was lol, i used an elec toothbrush without the head and held it to the outer sides of the mold to vibe/settle the silicon and release any deep bubbles,i ran a lit lighter over the top(which will be the base..)to expel any bubbles there!-not necessary but looked nicer-cleaner finish ,no silicon under wood, overall worked out nicely.

@@chefknifeco lol, have done some concreting/cementing, just brought it down a scale or two!the way you did the core flute and waxed the block, top marks for ingenuity!!

Y'all both seem like intelligent people to me. I love all these ideas. This may be exactly what I do to make the silicone mold for the knife handle.

Hi, how about putting the knife handle that you want to copy, instead of the wooden block?

How much did you use for that --- 500g, 1 kg, etc?

I have been looking for docent ways to create a mold to put a silicone mold into for a knife scale handle with my nephews ashes in it for my brother in law. I think this was by far the best and more informative tutorial. I'll have to go buy some of that white board stuff. I forget what you called it but that's exactly what I need.

Awesome, glad it's helped! I'm still using the exact mold I made on this video. Really good quality. Good luck with it!
