How to Make Silicone Molds for Casting Wax Candles

You can minimize the unevenness of the wax after it sets by not drilling a hole in the bottom of the mold for a wick. Instead, pull the wick through the silicone on a heavy-duty sewing needle. This allows the silicone to close tightly around the wick so that none seeps out after you pour.

You have to meet people where they are in terms of how they choose to communicate. I really hate when people want someone to change the way someone does something just for them when it seems to work for everyone else. I don't see anyone else complaining. Certain waxes can stick slightly more than others. In that case, release agent can be used to assist in demolding.

So, I’m assuming with molds made upside down like the pine cone, you don’t use wick tabs for the wicks. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do that and keep the wick centered and stable during the pour, but I don’t think it is possible? I would just have to make them without wick tabs?

Ebby Elsebai I make mine with wick tabs. When pouring the wax I use a wick stick instead of the wick and after the candle sets I thread the wick thru the hole after I remove the stick.

This almost 1/4 hour vid could easily have been produced in 5 mins: edits w/speeding up, fast forward, clipping & cutting. Every single second of process unnecessary, irritating, & a TIME- SUCK of minutiae. No argument a great tutorial; unquestionably TOO LONG!
