Great video. Could you tell me what diameter of silver do you use for the earring posts? and is it hard or soft?
@MadebyLeth

Hello I used 0.8 mm soft silver wire for the earring posts, after which I tumbled them to harden the wire. Generally, earring posts are between 0.8 - 1 mm (20 - 18 gauge), and I usually use soft wire as I tumble them afterwards, but you can easily use hard wire as well, just remember it gets a bit soft after soldering.

lovely earrings what was the paste that you put on the backs of the studs?

The paste I put on the back of the studs before soldering is called Silver solder paste. It is a combination of both flux and silver solder.

Very nice! May i ask what is that blue solution you put Siver earrings in?
@MadebyLeth

It is an acid bath that the earrings are put into after soldering to remove excess flux and oxidation.

I want to make some custom earrings, do you think I could take this steel and pour it into a mold? Or do you think that wont work.

Looking for a solid ball silver earring stud to purchase. Do you have an Amazon page?

Unfortunately, I don't have an Amazon shop. I sometimes sell through eBay but I don't have any of my jewellery for sale there right now. But let me know if you're still interested, maybe we can work something out.

Ummmm.....I'm confused. Over 90% of the tools you have listed are not used in your video. To me, this appears as an advertisement for stuff you get a commission on disguised as a silversmithing video 😢

I agree with you that much of the equipment I listed in my video description was not actually used in this particular video, which I also noted at the bottom of the description along with the fact that they were affiliate links. I haven’t reviewed the descriptions of this and many of my older videos for years, so I had completely forgotten that there were affiliate links-links that no one ever used, which is why they no longer worked. Based on your comment, I have updated all my video descriptions to a more current version that only includes links to my own content. My videos are purely intended for entertainment, and hopefully, some viewers can also learn from them. I want my descriptions to reflect this as well. So, thank you for your comment!

9:18 is there specific name for this „drilll”? I'm not sure if I'm seeing it correctly - is it concave or just flat?
