So excited for this video. I'm fairly new to metal smithing and have been making some pendants that need bails. I would prefer to make them rather than buy them. I would love to see your setup in soldering the ends while attached to a jewelry piece. Thanks!

I will do that at some point but if you do that add them before I do that, make sure you don't have your stones set in the piece as you do this seeing that they heat will destroy your stone. Also use a third hand to hold it so you don't solder it to the pendant if you are doing a free floating one

Perfect timing! I really need to move on from using multiple jump rings and make something a little more substantial for my necklaces. I like the look of multiple rings but sometimes a piece calls for more. Especially medium to large pendants. And the template is awesome, thank you! Already printed and will be using it.

Hello, I just found your channel and find it incredibly helpful. I have a question if you wouldn't mind helping me. I want to make a ring for a friend with a sunflower on it that I plan to make out of brass. I want the band itself to be disconnected and not form a solid ring to that on one end is the flower and on the other is a bee that looks like it's flying towards the flower. What thickness of metal should I use for the band so it's not too weak or easily bent? Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide me

Thanks for the video. I tried downloading the template and no luck yet. Do you consider the attachments at the ends of the chain and size of the bail so you pendants don't slide off the chain and get damaged. In the UK if you can't easily remove the pendant from the chain then both pendant and chain are considered one item and so could easily slip over the 7.2 gm silver limit, making the expense of hallmarking necessary.Anyways great video.

I used these bit.ly/NANOSawBlades When it come to size it really depends on the metal you are cutting my I use 2/0 and 3/0 for most of my work. I use size 5 on things like casting sprues.

Hey. I know this is off topic but how can I dispose if pickle made from vinegar and salt? I've looked up videos and it's usually the ones with chemicals.

Copper suspended in a liquid is the hazardous material. If you just let it all dry out you can just throw it away seeing that it would just be salt and copper but watch the video for more info.

Thank you for your concern but this is not a problem, see when I shoot my videos it adds a lot of contrast the the recordings. They makes things pop more than in real life. I should fix this color problem by color grading the video but that take a lot more time so I just don't do it. If I look at my nails right now that are just a pinkish tone like my skill. 😅
