Yes, you can use 10k resistor. but the circuit will become more sensitive to external light. for this, you can put LDR inside a small straight opaque tube (sketch pen, small pipe etc can be used)

Yes, you can use BC547, just check emitter, base and collector of the transistor before connecting. . but 100k resistor is too high, you can use resistor around 5k. . thanks
