If you’re like me, you have buckets full of small scrap fabric sitting around waiting to be used. They can be used to stuff pin cushions and other fabric items, but we can also use them in our slow stitching projects.
I have used some of my fabric scraps in this project. You can embellish yours with beads and buttons if you wish.

Hi Jen: You are so fun to watch! Love your teaching style. Speeding up the video after slowly showing the stitches is perfect. Beautiful threads and fabric. What size needle did you use for the French Knots? Thank you for sharing. 💜😎🇺🇸
@cookingjennfer
@cookingjennfer 5 ай бұрын
Thank you! I used whatever needle the yarn would go through. Not sure what size it was. I’m not professional enough to remember the sizes and colours of things and actually I have a lot of thrifted items so everything’s a mystery. 😆

I love the colors and patterns of your scraps. Do you have a particular place you get your unique scraps? Your ability to match patterns, colors, and stitching is amazing. Im so inspired by your talent. I just cant find unique scraps. Did your scraps come from bigger pieces? Thanks for sharing!! Love your art!! Stay safe. Hugs ❤

Thanks! Most of the scraps come from bigger pieces. I have also thrifted fabric, picked up scraps from the vintage market, and cut up clothing.

Just lovely. Do you start with a plan for your stitches or do you just follow your imagination as you’re stitching? Thanks!
@cookingjennfer
@cookingjennfer 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! No plan. I just pull out some scraps that I think would look nice together, take a few minutes to arrange them and then wing it. For this one, I chose the mustard thread because it matched the fabric on the bottom right corner. I chose the stitches as I went along. Sometimes I flip through one of my stitch samplers or an embroidery book to help me decide which stitch to use next.

Just beautiful, as always. How do you get your penned in spiral so perfect? Do you have a stencil? Mine never look very even.
@cookingjennfer
@cookingjennfer 5 ай бұрын
Thank you! I freehand it. Maybe you could trace a circle in the middle and use that as a guide for the rest of the spiral?

Can I ask what type of felt that is? Just the small squares of craft felt or something different?
