A smoothie is made by blending raw fruits or vegetables with water, fruit juice or milk. It may also contain other ingredients such as grains, herbs or proteins.
When it comes to making smoothies, most of us are familiar with traditional kitchen blenders, but there is no production scale equivalent.
If you’re looking to produce smoothies on a larger scale you may think you need several different pieces of processing equipment for chopping and pureeing the ingredients, but with a Silverson mixer you can manufacture smoothies in a single step, whatever the liquid base of your product.
Silverson offers versatile mixing equipment that can handle the entire process, rapidly disintegrating large solids down to their desired consistency. We have developed a blending plant for this application. It consists of a specially adapted Bottom Entry mixer working in conjunction with a High Shear In-Line mixer.
Fruits and vegetables can be added whole and blended in a fraction of the time taken by traditional processing and cutting equipment. The blending plant can also incorporate powders and other functional ingredients.
We also offer equipment for smaller volumes including bench top and laboratory scale mixers. Results are consistent across Silverson’s entire product range, meaning that a recipe you create in the lab can be replicated on a production scale.
