Oh wow Lisa! Thank you so much for the shout out! I'm so please that I was able to inspire you a little 😲 - your heart impression mat is absolutely adorable and those hearts just popped off the soap so well. I also like the last "bonus" layer color, it flows really nicely from the last grey color. I don't know how you do it with all of the calculations you do. I think I would get a headache and probably end up the a fetal position in some corner of my house 😅. Thanks for another lovely video...I love just watching you create your beautiful soaps!

Hey Tammy, thanks so much. Yes they are such a pain and sometimes it takes so long to just work out how to make a soap. I've constructed spreadsheets where I have to do all my detailed calculation, but sometimes you just want to get your stuff out and make a pretty soap.

These look great. I think having the little hearts inside is a great idea, it's like a little surprise for while they are using it. I also like that you did short, wide soaps, instead of tall thin ones. Everyone always does the tall thin ones, but you can do so many cool things on the tops of the short wide ones, and have them look so much nicer than the tall thin ones. There are some cool things you can do with the tall thin ones too, especially if you are creating a scene with embeds inside the soap, but you can do so many nice things on the tops of the short wide ones. So I wish more people would make the short wide ones. Like, in the fall, you could do a whole little pumpkin patch on the short wide ones, adding a bunch of little pumpkin embeds on top. Things like that look better on the short wide ones, because you can fit more stuff on them. I also like the soaps in different shapes, like if you are doing pie slice, or cupcake shaped soaps. Anyway, this was a good video. 👍

Such a fun concept! The impression mat is such a unique way to add an interesting top without concerns re piped or shaped pieces being damaged during shipping. I admit if I had to deal with all the regulations re soaping in the UK I would shift my focus elsewhere. I had no idea anyone faced such challenges creating soap. I am now even more appreciative of your vidoes. Thank you!

You are the absolute best technical soaper I have ever seen..Every soaper has their own style etc. But you are on a different level. Anyways, I’m not just blowing “sunshine up ur skirt..” The reason I said all that is because it is maddening to see your art hindered by so many pointless, money grubbing, government cash grab rules and policies. I pray we don’t see such horrible regulations here one day. Beautiful soap as always. ♥️💕😁
@IDreamInSoap3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. It can be very annoying and to be honest, it's not actually totally the government, it's mainly the cosmetic chemists. They refuse 100% to allow any flexibility in any recipe (even down to the fact that you have to tell them what your soap will be packaged in), that way if you want to do anything different then you have to pay for them to assess everything again, so for example if you said on your assessment I will wrap my soap in greaseproof paper, if you want to shrink-wrap it, you pay again (how on earth is that a cosmetic safety issue). Also, they are willing to sell their own flexible recipes, so if you want to buy their recipes (which normally aren't great) you can use a range of colours/fragrances etc - so they can do it with flexibility, they just won't.

Out of curiosity, how would the Soap Assessment Overloards be able to tell you strayed from the recipe? That has to be so frustrating. I can't recall, but does that apply to all soap, or even soap you make for personal use? Love the soap!
@IDreamInSoap3 жыл бұрын
Hey Josephine, it would only be a problem if there was an issue with the soap, so for example if someone had a reaction to it, then it got reported by a doctor or something. In that case the soap would be taken away and analysed. In the UK our trading standards don't visit and take samples to test on a random basis, but if there were issue or concern then they would. In France they actually do visits and take samples, take them to a lab and get them analysed. We don't need an assessment for personal use, but we do for everything else, e.g. giving away, donating to charity, were not even allowed to do product testing unless the item already has a cosmetic assessment

I like it!!! I think this is only the second time I've seen you miscalculate your soap. You may possibly be hiding further secrets.... Lol. When you started putting in the hearts with a tweezer, I had my own little idea, born through impatience rather than talent. I would have made a mould for single soaps and then just randomed the hearts in. 20 minutes, done and dusted 🤣🤣🤣 However, your way is better because you're sure to get a little heart in each soap. Will we see a St Patrick's day soap next?
@IDreamInSoap3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Colleen, yes I rather overestimated how many hearts I would get in and then did the well I'd rather have too much than too little for the impression mat. I have in fact done a St Patricks day soap, it's been on the curing rack for about a week, not sure if it will be the next video, but it will be soon

I just found you on youtube and wanted to order some soap with you but I can't unfortunately since I live in the Netherlands. Why is it that since brexit you can't sell soap but can sell soap supply's? It is sad that I didn't find you earlier on youtube
@IDreamInSoap3 жыл бұрын
Hi and welcome. Yes it's such a shame. To sell soap into the EU you have to have a responsible person who actually lives in the EU. The responsible person is just that, they are responsible for everything to do with your soap, including having all your recipes, registering all of your products on the EU portal and being liable if there is anything wrong. As I live in the UK I do not have a RP in the EU. Therefore cannot legally sell soap there. It's the same for anyone selling from outside the EU (including US soap makers) if they sell into the EU they are breaking the law. Soap tools etc do not come under cosmetic regulations, so I can still sell these.

No, gently drop nothing with tweezers, I'd be doing a gentle sprinkle and spread with the counted amount I wanted, it's 5 layers nobody will notice
@IDreamInSoap3 жыл бұрын
I could have done that but I was after a nice little pattern and also the hearts needed to sit flat, if you just sprinkle them in then the heart shape wouldn't show up as the soap was used as they would be at all funny angles.
