This is actually very similar to how my grandmother used to make them, except she did it with an indonesian style curry. I also think she used to marinade the crabs in garlic, ginger and turmeric first before cooking. Loved them, and thanks for reminding me of them

Whats the difference in the 2 currys?
@azalikmar210 ай бұрын

@@azalikmar2 interesting, what kind of spices are common for Indonesian food? 🫡

@@sycofya1677 I’d say most dishes are based on three bases. Red, White, or Yellow. Red containing usually chilis, garlic, shallots, and sometimes tomato White containing usually garlic, shallots, and sometimes candlenut and coriander Yellow, similar to White, contains usually garlic, shallots, and candlenut and/or coriander with the addition of turmeric So the Indonesian Curry is made from the yellow base, with the addition of chili, lime leaves, lemongrass, galangal, bay leaves, shrimp paste, ginger, sometimes some tamarind paste or mangosteen paste

Dunk bread in the egg mixture, soaking both sides. 3. Transfer to the hot skillet and cook until golden, 3 to 4 minutes per side. 4. Serve hot. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios.
