I really like your approach! Surprisingly have not seen a lot of folks using the sampling capabilities of the M8 so this was really cool

I mentioned to trash80 that I wished the M8 had of had a mic inbuilt and he reminded me that it never had a sampler when the production model was being designed. So that might explain some of it. I had made a similar video to this about a year ago but a major update to the sampler page made the video obsolete.

Are these lofi presets already included in the 02?

yes it is in Avrilcadabra/AvrilC Modern/wowflutter on the model 02, but it will need a loop sample loaded into it of course

This is so great. May I ask how long it took to get comfortable with the tracker layout? The M8 looks amazing, I'm just a little intimidated by it. :)

I can't be a good judge as I'd used trackers on Amiga and briefly before the M8 went into production I bought a gameboy with LSDJ to practice. Then used headless m8 (the free one) until My hardware M8 finally came (like 8 months later), also had used Hex a lot in programming. I would suggest trying the Headless version for the price of a Teensy 4.1 to see if you like it and generally there is always some waiting for more M8's to be made. These days the M8 has help text on the bottom of the screen telling you what everything does and it shows values your editing in the help text in decimal. As well as has a tiny miniature piano keys graphic on the screen showing what's playing. Feel free to jump on the Dirtywave discord if you have any questions, great helpful community. Lame question, when you record on your phone how do you get the sample on the m8? Using laptop?

on the samsung note 9 I have you just plug the phone into m8 via usb and sample it, works the same on the m1 ipad air I have. Of course the note 9 has a headphone jack so can do it that way also.
