My Easy Yo doesn't have the red baffle thingee it sits on. Nobody else I know who has one has that either. Is there a difference between the Kiwi and Aussie ones? Or just a newer model? :)

Thank you for this Gavin. Literally have to be vegan (and I loved meat) and was gifted the Easyo kit complete with the thermos. I look forward to soy yoghurt which is almost impossible to buy as supermarkets favour coconut yoghurt , which is a no no for me (it has cholesterol)

Hello Gavin, your end result is beautiful! Unfortunately I do not have this yogurt maker, I am using a thermos. Do you end up with a separation with fluid with this yogurt maker? I end up with the bottom half of the thermos entirely of clear fluid (like curds and whey but non dairy) in dairy both the yogurt and the whey is usable but I have no idea if this watery substance is beneficial at all in soy yogurts. The creamy yogurt part is not so thick, so I really don't want to stir it in usually. When I do stir it in, the turnout is a thinner result like a kefir texture and sometimes I do stir it in for a "drinkable yogurt"... but is the water part beneficial in any way (probiotic)? Make it pays not to get rid of it and to use in smoothie. I love seeing your end result!

Sorry, I cant understand what is the tiny powder you pour in it at the begining. What is it???

I'm wondering, if you heat your milk to 40°C and then put it in a thermos with boiling water, doesn't it make the temperature of the yoghurt go above 40°Cat first untill the water cools down?

Hey Gavin, hope you're well. Have you ever tried (documenting and) making a washed rind cheese out of plant milks? Would be very curious to know how it turned out if you did.

Thanks for this great video. I have a question. I like my yogurt a little thicker. Would it get thicker if left to ferment a little longer? Any suggestions?

Hello Gavin, can you use a probiotic capsule? If so what would you recommend? Thanks
@GavinWebber Жыл бұрын
Not sure, but there are specific probiotic yoghurt cultures; www.littlegreenworkshops.com.au/product/probiotic-yoghurt-culture/

Hi Gavin, i hope you're well. I bought an easy yo today but need the mini spoons and the bacteria but the set of 4 spoons like yours are unavailable in England mate but i can get the same set but without the 'drop' spoon, is that one essential for yoghurt & cheese or could I get away with the 'smidgeon' one? Also I have found a supplier of this non dairy bacteria (my missus is dairy free) but as I want to make yoghurt for myself too but with milk, can you use this same bacteria with dairy milk? If you can't, which one would you recommend for using with milk please? Cheers.
@GavinWebber8 жыл бұрын
I believe that a level smidgeon will be fine for this recipe. Also, you can use this culture to inoculate cows milk as well to make a mild yoghurt.

Gavin Webber Thanks very much for your help, i appreciate that mate.

Hello Gavin, super interesting video, have you ever tried to make soy yogurt from soy beans directly, thus producing soy milk in the first place ? I'd LOVE to know a detailed recipe to do that !!!

Thanks for making this video. But instead of the Yogurt culture can use citric powder or lemon juice or lime-juice or citron juice to ferment the Soy-milk? Just curious
@Losttoanyreason6 жыл бұрын
Would this work with any other grain, legume or nut drink or is it just work with soy?

i didn't know there was a soy bean on the planet that wasn't genetically modified. i seem to remember roundup adding modifying theirs a long time ago. then suing every farm that theirs spread to later for patent infringement.

Nice, just goes to show how much sugar is added to soy milk (unless you made the milk yourself).

Yes, I make my soy milk from scratch without sugar and the yogurt made from it is quite lovely and firm. No sugar required!
