When you live in Northeast Pennsylvania, and the snow can start to fall in October, a good beef stew is a staple. We use regular stew beef not hamburger, potatoes, carrots and green beans. Buttermilk biscuits or dumplings as accompaniments. Keeping your Connie in my thoughts and prayers each and every day.

Stew/scouse is one of my favorite meals on a cold dark day. 😋 Love it with some thick bread and butter. I’ve actually never tried it with minced/ground beef-but think I will make it your way-seems less expensive and easier. What are “oxos”? Bouillon? Thank you for showing us your tasty recipes. I wanted to tell you that I made some just the other day and oh my gosh! Both my roommate and myself kept going back and having dish after dish! Here I am 57 years old and I don't know why I didn't put together that cutting the potatoes smaller they would disintegrate and thicken it and cutting them larger would leave some to be for potatoes. So I did that this time and oh my gosh! It was thick and hearty with chunks of potato! I wish I had known this years ago!

She had decided that she was going to put up new ceiling tiles in her kitchen since she already had Searss come out and install a brand new kitchen sink and cabinets with the built-in microwave oven but she didn't have them build in her stove into the cabinets well it was just the day after my dad had finished hanging up those tiles when out of the kitchen we hear like a big kaboom from the kitchen when we go see what the noise was &and sure enough it was the pan of tomatoes she was getting ready to start putting them in the jars after she finished cooking them in her pressure cooker. Well you$ guessed it it looked like red bloody mess and dad had to come back over the next day and not onNM hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhly change tiles now but wash and paint the walls😊😊 after that he built her a stove out in the garage to use from that point on
