Hey Kiona, French Toast is one of my all time favorite breakfast or anytime food. The custard you made is exactly like the custard I used to make for my French Toast for my kids. Just a shot in the dark, but is this like Zuni’s French toast. It’s a restaurant in Jerusalem Israel and that is only place I’ve seen French toast made like this and my wife are trying to recreate it. I cannot wait to try this out! 🙏

For the cost of brioche bread you don't need to cut the crust off. Matter of fact NOBODY cuts the crust off any bread when making French toast. And your method is ridiculous. You dip bread not put in separate dish, slather and refrigerate
