Hey bino I have a question do you know what it’s called to use 1 rope for 2 different rope systems because I work with a commercial crew but the thing is they use 2 ways to work there way into certain trees and around the tree i see them use there moving rope system with there prusik cord pulley and carabiners but what they do is with the running end of there rope they tie a Blake’s hitch to move around the other side of the tree to trim the side that needs to be trimmed do I can’t find a video of what they do maybe u could help me out? They only use ddrt prusik hitch and Mrs hip thrust there old school

Hey what kind of knots are acceptable for srt canopy anchors and base anchors? And is any hardware acceptable like quickies or carabiners for canopy or base anchors?

running bowline with yosemite finish(never without) and running alpine butterfly are both fine. Carabiners aren't recommended to be used on anchors. Quickies are fine if used correctly and are nice for reducing friction when you have to remove a canopy anchor.

You're better off using a dmm revolver or a petzl roll clip carabiner, setup as a "Texas tug" instead of the Notch quickie. Or you can do an even better one, and get/use the Teufelberger Multi Sling paired together with a Dmm Revolver. Then you have a mid line attachable retrievable canopy anchor.

First time climber here. I used the alpine butterfly, rope around the trunk twice, and a hardware store screw type Clevis. The steel Clevis from wherever is rated for more than anything else in my set up. Plus it’s just me, and my trees so I don’t see the need to spend a lot on a quickie Clevis. Only a couple dozen trees to go 😃
