This is fantastic! A lot of other synthwave tutes focus on synth selection and effects (which is great, don't get me wrong!) but completely gloss over melody construction: they just say "this is the melody I wrote for this song" without saying WHY. This is actually teaching me both WHY you wrote this and HOW to write better melodies generally... and expanding my knowledge of music theory in a way that is interesting to me!

Good video man. One thing that help me about with Melodies or over all feel is practicing chord progressions. Then most times I end up starting a song.

Yea Chord progressions and "accidental" chord progressions are sometimes that start of what is to become a great song.

Thanks. It's something I use when I'm stuck and can't crank out a melody. Sometimes, a more developed melody eventually emerges on its own but it starts with the basic building blocks. I'm glad this was helpful.

@@SynthwavePro I think that one of the videos that most helped me was the one about arrangement and transitions. It's interesting how something so simple like the position of a riser and a cuttof automation in bass track can make a really big difference. Also, the tips with reverb in the snare are very useful and I definitely will start to put in practice in my songs. Anyways, thank you so much!
