Way to go Nae. Each year, I would try to make them how my mom mad them (but I really didn't like how they came out). It took me 3 times before I got them how my husband likes it. He actually think they are better than his mom's.

I love this channel so much! My mom is from Arizona. When I told her I was making tamales she laughed at me. I followed your recipe from your other tamale video. I used vegetable shorting instead of lard because I do not eat pork. Now my tamales are the only ones she will eat lol. I Thank you so much for the great recipe!!!

Good for you Steph, I live in Arizona also, never have made Tamales, she makes it look easy and so possible to do. I am amazed. We have places that make great masa already prepared, but I love the way she made the meat filling, although I like mine hot, so i would use Hatch New Mexico Green Chile for the red chile mixture. Bet, your mom loved it and asked for this recipe, HA!!!

I love this channel so much!! My husband and his family are from NM and I am a white af northerner. I've made some good stuff for my husband, but not like this.. I was super nervous but last year I followed one of your videos where you did everything by hand and followed closely. He was floored, his parents were floored and honestly, we just don't get this quality here in Idaho, (we had California natives offer to pay by the dozen, I don't have that much in me to even attempt to take these to the market.) My mom would make the best tamales!!! This is the first year that we are not going yo have those delicious tamales. In January she passed away. And in September my daddy passed away the were married 60 years. Christmas is never going to be the say!!!! I love seeing your videos.

Last year (Christmas) I gave tamales to all my neighbors, friends, and people who had done favors or work for me. Everyone loved them and even asked where I got them so they could order more, but the lady who made them doesn’t know if she’ll be making them this year. Then your video popped up! I had seen a video before, possibly even yours. One thing I can’t get over is how much lard is in them!! They must be very fattening! I don’t even know where or how to buy it. But I’m so glad that you said you can eat the whole beef mixture over rice because if I don’t have the nerve to do the masa, I can eat it over rice, and I can’t wait to try it!!! It looks sooo good!! Thank you for making this Tamales video. You have inspired me to make these this Holiday season..My Mom would make these every year growing up. My Mom passed away a couple of years ago and I hadn't made them for 5 years with her because of her health. You make them like hers. The thinner the masa the better and she would put chile sauce in her masa. Also the best thing she put in hers were the surprise olives. Buen Provecho. 🌺🌸🌺

I have eaten beef tamales and love them and those you made look great and your son seem to love the one he ate. When I was in Michigan growing up we ate some my father ordered and picked up at the area store. I now live in Arkansas and still eat them when I can get them and it was last year when one store about an hour away from my home was selling them and stopped when the person making them left the area. I have never made them at home, but keep saying that I am going to try making some. Your families are so fortunate to have you all cooking for them and Cloud must be as good in the kitchen as you are, Stephanie.
