How To Make The Best French Toast

Here is how to make French toast the French way. In France, French toast is made with French bread. Then, the egg mixture is soaked into the inside of the bread. This is the most important point. The inside of the toast will have the texture of pudding. You will never go back to French toast that is soaked only on the surface.

Ingredients:.
Baguette, sliced a little thicker into 4 or 5 slices (about 130 g)
250cc milk
1 egg
50 g granulated sugar
1/3 vanilla bean
Vanilla essence can be substituted.
30-40g butter

Make soaking liquid
Crack the whole egg into a bowl, scrape the vanilla bean with a knife, and add it.
Add granulated sugar and immediately stir with a whisk
The trick is to mix the egg yolks as soon as the granulated sugar is added, because the yolks will harden by osmosis when the granulated sugar and egg yolks come into contact.
Slice the baguette about 2 cm thick.
Place the baguettes on a baking sheet and pour the soaking liquid over the baguettes.
Turn upside down, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight to fully soak in.
Turn the top and bottom again before going to bed so that the liquid is evenly distributed.
The next day, remove the baguette soaked in the marinade from the refrigerator and turn it upside down again for 10 minutes before baking.

Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add butter.
When the butter is melted, reduce the heat to medium and gently add the baguette.
Brown the pan while shaking it.

When the underside is also browned, place on a plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
