I went to the comments. Only thing I "will" say, if you are not "weighing" your ingredients, you will never have consistency. Digital kitchen scales are cheap, you should only have to add what a recipe calls for, a very small amount of extra flour is possible due to weather but if you are adding cups, you really need to do some research before making videos on baking.

@@meghan7547 Balony! l am a guy and l bake my own bread. l learn from people like this gal on this channel the know-how and recipe it's in my head. It's not just the recipe it's the process too a big part of it to make yummy bread. l bake bread that my girlfriend's friends come and eat and they love it. l always bake a 2 lb bread and sometimes l have 5.5 cups of flour and sometimes less or more. It's the process of how to bake that makes the biggest difference. l don't measure anything l throw them together and mix/knead/proof and bake and eat it with real butter. @@sepetisionelatu5539 Go to school..... BAKING IS SCIENCE. Being exact in measurements is the ABSOLUTE KEY to successful baking. Weighing ingredients is the ABSOLUTE KEY to consistent success. Any time you take a cup of flour as she did, it becomes packed and is actually quite a bit more than an actual cup. 1 cup of flour weighs 120 grams, a simple scale will weigh in grams, lb./oz, fluid oz.... amazon for $10.. then you can begin to enjoy baking without.. OH.. need to add a little more. If measurements by weight wasn't important why do ALL commercial bakery's do exactly that? Your ignorance is quite laughable to all who know.

@@bethdepot-jackson7054 Her recipe is delicious and I like it but I will also share mine with you. I have been making bread about a year now and found a recipe (after some tweaking) that I like to use. You can adjust the types of wheatberries you like to use. I have used all hard red before and like it, but I now like to use a mix of wheat berries. Here is what I do [you can adjust and not use the egg or oil if you want, but I find it does make the bread better]: I take 2 1/4 cups wheat berries and grind them into flour. [Here is the mix of wheatberries I like the best …. 1 1/4 c Hard Red, 1 c spelt or a mix of spelt and hard white] Grind the berries into flour. Mix in 1 tsp salt; In a separate bowl, mix 1 tb active yeast with a tiny bit of sugar to help feed/activate it and add 1/4 c warm … not hot…. Water. In a third measuring cup, mix 1/4 c oil, 1/4 c honey and one egg. Set aside. Measure out 1 c warm, not hot, water. Now your ready to make the bread. Pour the yeast mixture, the oil mixture into the flour. Then add about 1/2 to 3/4 c of the warm water to the mixture and mix well. Use some of the leftover water as needed to ensure a moist dough but not too sticky and not too dry. I knead this about 10 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in size. Roll onto a very lightly floured surface (you don’t want to dry out the dough) and gently shape into a loaf. I pull it to the length of my pan, pull the sides toward the middle to stretch it without pushing all the air out of it, then pull from the other sides and stretch it over to the middle again, pinch the pulled sides together and place this side facing down in the pan. This amount makes enough dough for about one good sized loaf. I place parchment paper in the bottom of my pan to make sure it does not stick. Cook at 350 F for about 30 min or until golden brown. You can cook it hotter, but I don’t like to do that. I like a better rise to my dough in the oven. I make this bread once a week and the loaf lasts us (2) about 5 days …. Eating only one slice a day. Hope you try and like it.

If you want to make more of a close crumb sandwich bread I highly suggest this recipe. Your's looked great for some Texas toast or other thick cuts but I think this is a great one to try. 6 cups unbleached all-purpose flour or bread flour. You can also do half white half wheat flour 1 cup milk (I use skim) 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups hot water enough to make a soft, smooth dough 8 tablespoons melted butter or 1/2 cup vegetable oil (it needs to be a low flavor oil so olive oil will not work. Avocado oil is the better choice) 4 tablespoons granulated sugar (I use organic cane sugar) 2 1/2 teaspoons salt 2 packet active dry yeast dissolved in 2 tablespoon warm water OR 4 teaspoons instant yeast. (I use refrigerated instant yeast) 1. To make the dough: Weigh your flour; or measure it by gently spooning it into a cup, then sweeping off any excess. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and stir until the dough starts to leave the sides of the bowl. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased surface (I use a very small amount of flour, You do not want to use too much flour when kneading your dough), oil your hands (a small amount of butter rubbed in your hands works best), and knead it for 6 to 8 minutes, or until it begins to become smooth and supple (I use the window pane test). 2. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover the bowl, and allow the dough to rise until puffy though not necessarily doubled in bulk, about 1 to 2 hours. Mine usually takes the full 2 hours. 3. Gently deflate the dough and transfer it to a lightly oiled work surface. I usually just spray a little non stick spray onto my dough mat. Once you deflate it you need to flatten it and shape it into a rectangle. Take a rolling pin and flatten all the air bubbles. Fold the dough in half until it's a long long shape. Flip it over and then take the rolling pin to it again. At this point I separate it into two parts of equal size. Take each part and fold it into itself to make a roll (like a cinnamon roll on its side. This is what creates the fluffy close crumb). Then place it into your loaf pans, this recipe makes 2 loaves (I prefer a pullman pan with a lid). 4.Then place it into your loaf pans, they should be sprayed with a nonstick spray first, this recipe makes 2 loaves (I prefer a pullman pan with a lid). Cover the pan loosely with lightly greased plastic wrap or the pullman lid, and allow the bread to rise for about 60 minutes, until it's domed about 1" above the edge of the pan. A finger pressed into the dough should leave a mark that rebounds slowly. Towards the end of the rise, preheat your oven to 350°F. 5. Bake the bread for 40 minutes, until it's light golden brown. Test it for doneness by removing it from the pan and thumping it on the bottom (it should sound hollow), or by measuring its interior temperature with a digital thermometer (it should register 190°F at the center of the loaf). 6.Remove the bread from the oven, and cool it on a rack before slicing. Store the bread in a plastic bag at room temperature for several days; freeze for longer storage. THE BREAD NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE PANS AS SOON AS THEY COME OUT OF THE OVEN AND PLACED ON A COOLING RACK. YOU CANNOT LEAVE THEM IN THE PAN TO COOL.
