Like the video for sure! Seems like a great recipe & easy as hell too. My only thought/concern is knowing dogs, when they're eager for something they don't take too much time to chew. A ball could be a bad idea IMO. Get stuck in their throat. Depending on the size of the ball treat & the dog... Are we familiar with a Heimlich for dogs? If I had my rotti's around still I'd make cookies or thick wafers. Dogs aren't so prone to just swallow a square object as something round. Thanks again for another video (finally lol) Richard. And BTW the Arki's are a lot different to use than the Japanese whet stones I'm used to. Looking forward to honing that technique! Hope all is well in LV my friend!!!

You are right about the ball size. Now when I take one out for my boy I break it up because he is a little priss and does not like big chunks and luckily he likes to chew. You can make these in any shape to fit your pooches needs and I am sure they will love it! For a big rottie I might just make the mixture and put in a jar and feed it to him/her by the spoon like regular peanut butter and let them do the roof of the mouth thang! So which do you like better? The arkies or the Japanese stones?
@Rottidog7 жыл бұрын
The peanut butter to the roof of the mouth, funny as hell. Still like the Japanese whet stones. They're what I started using & am most familiar with. That being said, the Arki's have a lot of promise if/when I put enough time to get comfortable with them AND my technique. I watch yourself & others sharpening knives & take the ideas/styles I am most comfortable with & use that. The Western Stroke does make sense to me but takes a more patience & time compared to the Japanese forward/backward style I use. So I've found anyway.
