Definitely the "work smarter not harder" approach haha! Awesome video

Do you have a pattern of origami you would want me to try with this method?

I'm so happy to see you back on here making something! It doesn't matter what it is. Thinking about it now, paper airplanes seems like a great path for young people to get an understanding of engineering principals clear in their heads. Folding paper -> cutting and taping cardboard -> scoring and gluing plastic -> welding metal. A lot of principals stay the same, it just gets heavier as you go up the chain.

Yes absolutely! Origami I learned as a kid has come in very handy on sheet metal design later in life.

It def added a lil' happiness to my world :) The humor...lol. Plus, I can make a stack of these and create minor chaos in minutes! Or...IDK, help a science teacher or something. Maybe a 2-for-1 in that instance. At any rate, thanks and glad to see ya again so soon :) -K

Nice work, Ben. In the mid-1980s, I used to make origami Transformers in Elementary school. Yeah, I was a geek.

You are my people. Might need to do some origami pre-folded stuff too!

I've been making the same airplane since I was a kid and it has never flown right. Maybe now's the time to change that. lol Hope your having an ok day Ben.

Let me know if it works. This is a super stable design and is very forgiving with folding errors

I am 83 and enjoying ever so much making things on laser at Rochester Makerspace. Today I made my first box using chipboard (box is a bit stiff). I also tried a toy airplane...disaster. All the slots are off. Searching Google for different file. I have engraved on rocks and photo on wood with some success. Can I use chipboard, paper (what kind)? Oh golly, I will be back; great tutorial.
@DreadMakerRoberts Жыл бұрын
Chipboard will not fly. You need to use just printer paper

OK, thanks. That I have...love your tutorial!

I'm a total noob with laser cutters/engravers and such, so this might be a dumb question... Is it possible to perforate a stack of sheets? Just to make a few of these in one go if you have like multiple kids and a very limited time on a laser cutter? Sweet plane design by the way. I don't think I've seen one used from where I'm from.
@DreadMakerRoberts Жыл бұрын
Yes you can but keep in mind that it will need to be cut slower.
