In this video I will show you how I make the most perfect magwinya / puff puff without kneading with your hands - I call it a wet dough . Get geared and cook with me !
ENJOY!!
Ingredients:
3 cups of flours
1/2 tsp Salt
3 tablespoon of sugar
2 tsp Yeast ( Instant )
1 1/2 cups of warm water
1 tbsp olive oil
Method
1. Mix the plain/ cake or bread flour, salt and sugar together into the flour, with the fingertips. Add the Anchor Instant Yeast and mix.
2. Add olive oil and Add the lukewarm water to the flour mixture to form a soft dough. Add a little more water, if necessary. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic with a wooden spoon for 10 minutes.
3. Cover with a film and allow to rise in a warm place for about an hour depending on your temperature
4. After an hour , pour oil into a large saucepan, or pot about 3/4 filled. Heat the oil for about 10 minutes before deep frying time. Place a piece of dough into the oil to test the heat. (Slight bubbles around the dough, is an indication that the oil has warmed enough to be used).
5. When the oil is ready, scoop the dough with ur hands and carefully and place it into the warm oil . Give enough room for each ball , making sure they are not touching each other or on top of each other . Deep Fry for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
6. Remove from the oil with a draining spoon and drain on paper towel or brown paper.
Serving Variations
Serve with sliced Polony , cheese and atchar Serve with White Liver slices and Atchar. Serve with mashed Avocado, when in season Serve with Mince and cheese. Lastly you can certainly Eat them as they are .
P.S The dough does not necessarily HAVE to be wet .
