Will the top of the spring hat damage the bottom of the strut mount by that I mean the bearing is anything needed between those 2 parts

Hi. Well yes and no. The spring hat will sit on the moving part of the bearing. But wont fit completely without a spacer of sorts… I made up a spacer that fits inside the bearing as a sleave, and tapers out at the bottom to spread out the load on the spring pearch top… if that makes sense

Hi, I have a Nissan S12 and it's quite similaire. I have a question: isn't possible to remove the original "tube" or to cut, short it, refit and weld it, please? I mean isn't possible the reduce the required lenght by the bottom like cutting and reweld it (that's will keep the upper thread for lock the cartridge in place). Hope you'ill understand the idea, i'm not very good at english. Thanks.

Hi. It is possible. My s12 I wanted to do a s13 front coilovers. You Can Google it, Lots of great write ups on that. But long stort short, yes. It’s possible to do it that Way. Be sure that your welds are good.
