have done many kumihimo bracelets... love them , many i have gotten from your patterns, so ty for sharing , but i dont know why you such large clasps , i have used 3 mm diameter (inside) and they work perfect !!! i also coat the ends with clear nail polish and after that dries , i cut the ends and it keeps the threads together so i can get a clean finish in the clasp without worries of the threads coming undone . just sharing a few of my tips that have worked well for me

@Beverly Dolfini The length of this bracelet using the 34 beads on each warp is 6.75 inches. If you add more beads to each warp, you will lengthen the bracelet.

Does gluing the ends hold really well? I am around kids who love to pull and like to make sure the things I make will survive.

E6000 is an industrial adhesive and it's absorbed into the fibers of the chord, so the hold is very strong. You'll want to make sure that the E6000 cures completely which will take 36 to 48 hours. At that point the weak point is probably going to be the chord itself and the chord is quite strong.

+Beadaholique Yes, but I'm worried since the clasp is a smooth metal.

We've used E6000 for gluing a lot of different metal jewelry and it works well even with smooth surfaces as long as it's given time to cure. I can't guarantee the bracelet would hold up to a determined attempt to break it but we've been teaching this method of adding clasps to kumi braids for several years and haven't seen or heard of any problems with durability.
