I liked the inclusion of the steamer to denote caring for your clothes, but I also think another important tip is to consider the material of the garment you are buying. Silks and cashmere may look expensive, but it may require dry cleaning vs using a washing machine at home. I think a video about the financial aspects, pet damage/hair removal, or time requirements needed to maintain a proper wardrobe would be a helpful addition in your series to accompany this video.

Awesome tips Josie especially the one about trying a trend on the high street before splurging. My tip: If I buy a piece that is beautiful fabric but had an element that makes it look cheap, like weird buttons, I spend money in replacing them with better quality buttons. This way the item looks more expensive and unique.

Excellent video! Ironing & steaming clothes makes the biggest difference. And just overall taking good care of clothes - making sure clothes get cleaned according to directions, cleaning ones shoes, etc, makes them stay nice and look expensive for way longer.

Ah...lovely Josie...Your beauty is regal and your style, impeccable. Gorgeous, pulled together women like Josie usually have killer bodies and gorgeous faces, but that's not what makes them look so classy. I've noticed that they all have some things in common and they have nothing to do with being beautiful, or wearing the most expensive designer pieces. In my opinion it all boils down to this: If your hair looks good (freshly washed, good blow-out, roots/highlights done, current style), you've got great teeth, your skin looks clean, taken care of and fresh with a soft touch of neutral makeup, and you've got your nails and tootsies looking great, you can wear a trash bag and make it look couture. Josie has everything going for her look-wise, AND she has the sweetest personality. Win-win! Love u Josie

Great idea for a video! I definitely agree that fit and quality of fabric/construction are key to making sure your outfit looks its best. For jewelry I really like some of Tiffany’s classic silver pieces (although I know you prefer gold/rose gold), they’re pretty simple but I always feel like they instantly make an otherwise plain outfit look more polished. 😊

You know you can get lovely basics and mix them with a chic jacket or pants, for a lot less money, than you spend on clothes Josie. For example, I just bought some lovely soft white t shirts at Cosco, 2 for $9.99. They are beautiful, soft, wash and wear well! They are by the brand 32 degrees cool, if anyone from US is interested. Also some basic joggers, for $16.00 at TJ Maxx, worn with this white t, then a high end blazer, white Adidas and gorgeous bag, (doesn't have to be designer), and voila, a chic outfit for very reasonable!

It's an old fashioned tip but I find wearing a slip / petticoat under lower price dresses can help them hang much better and look higher end.

Great tips! I always love your fashion advice. I think I need to get a steamer. I didn't realise until recently but apparently you can damage cotton by ironing it as it can give a kind of sheen to the fabric. Also, clothes with ruffle details can be really hard to iron. And thirdly, I hate ironing! Talking myself into a purchase here! x
