Pahlwan comes from Pahlevan from ancient Persia and it means "Hero" or someone that is more than an Athlete and has a code of honor and what not. The meels were created along with a series of other tools for Pahlvani sport and this sport was actually the warrior's training back in the day, it was functional with focus on movements a warrior needed to build strength for on the field.

I don't know why this is called persian mills? This are Mugdars... there are huge number of evidence and detailed videos in KZbin... of its origination from the culture of Sanatan Dharma... and from the land of Bharat... all our Prominent deities like Yamraj, Bajrangbali... and Supreme deities like Narayan all have Gada as a weapon(a variant of clubs or mugdar)... which is clearly depicted in our scriptures too!

This sport has been used to become strong in war as well as wrestling! Iranians have always been superior in wrestling! So this sport has real authenticity in Iran! In every small town in Iran, you will find at least 5 or 6 Zorkhaneh sports places! But surely in India the number of this Zorkhaneh stadium is much less! This sport belongs to Iran! As the ship belongs to Iran, even if we consider Greece as its inventor! Iranian people live with wrestling! Americans and Russians and... when the crowd of wrestling fans see; They admit that wrestling belongs to you Iranians! So it doesn't matter where it comes from! These sports belong to the country that cultivates them with love! Indians should dance and play cricket! wrestling is our sport! What I said is the truth and not out of pride!

@@anubhavrai8605 dont forget Persia had a lot of influence on the neighboring countries including India and there are many words in Indian language that trace back to Persian. Using Meels as a form of physical conditioning was originated in Persia and it came as part of a series of tools, not just the meels and has a whole sport built around it. Meels is just one aspect of it.
