And this is also why I appreciate people like you who make the short AND a full video. Much appreciated

I've been trying to learn sound design for years. Whatever I make, sounds like it's been heard before. Making a unique sounding patch is like basically trying to find a diamond in a coal mine, it's that difficult. I'm sure it can be achieved, but it's definitely not done by randomly clicking and changing parameters. There is a deep understanding of synthesis involved. Years, I'm talking years now. How you do it, befuddles me. Awesome stuff, Sam.

its similar to perfect pitch but with sonics instead

My bet is you just aren’t doing ear training every day before working on patches. I have only been making music for a year but about a month after I started I began doing ear training every day for at least 30min using sound gym and my progress has been ridiculous. It makes it so much easier to hear the frequency spectrum and when certain effects like compression, distortion, and phasing take place.

If you mind me asking what's your method of study?
@anantwashere Жыл бұрын
@@greylove7688 just watching videos, tbh. One day it is about lfo's, the other day it is about envelopes. Very random. Plus, I keep changing synths. I don't suppose I've deep dived inside one Synth, looked properly under the hood, figured out the inner workings of a Synth. Now I've recently purchased syntorial, going ahead with that. Basically, I have no routine. I can spare about half an hour every day for research, so I lack practice for sure. I'd appreciate if you had something on your mind.

I did this and it's amazing how a simple selection of sounds filled up the whole frequency spectrum in my EQ. Thanks for the tutorial

Really dope sound. Also , he doesn’t really do techno or dance, but could you try and recreate a whitearmor / draingang beat. Specifically songs from crest/spiderr

I love the vid so far, but I’m running into an issue on the filter at 3:55. I’ve followed your tutorial to a T, but my filter does not look like yours. I’m using L/B/H 24. I have the cutoff at 2328; the Res at 25; the Drive at 22; the Morph at 25; and the Mix at 100… but the tale of my filter is below the center line, the resonate part of the line goes slightly over the center line, and then the line goes diagonally down all the way to the bottom right corner. The incline is a quarter incline. If I turn the resonance all the way down, and the drive up to halfway, it looks about like yours. I don’t understand why mine looks different.

Awesome. I think supersonic is by far his best song. Very cool emotional song. Can you would you break down how to build a kick drum that has the swoosh and punch sound that Rez has in her song someone else? I don’t know exactly what she’s got going on but there’s a swing and a hit to the way that kick thump lands in that song someone else did just it feel so powerful man please see if you can show us how she’s getting that Thanks for making these videos

Hi Sam great job! I wanted to ask you what chain are you using with your mic? Cause your voice sounds really great on it. I can see a SM7B, can you tell me what are you using with when you are recording your videos ? (Pre amp, comp, limiter?) thanks for your help 🙏

My bro, I've done everything down the the wire that you've done here and my sound is *nothing* like the one you're getting. Is there something on your master? The low layer sounds fine, but the high layer sounds completely different when I recreate it. It's not a skill issue, I've gone through this video second by second to get everything exact and it's missing so much oomph. Did you miss anything while making this video?

I FIGURED IT OUT! The missing link is to have a second row of notes in the midi for the high preset, following the notes of the bass. Lead sound hits G#3 and then A3, but ALSO put notes on E0, F0 and D0. This fixed it for me and made it all sound like it should.
