I build all mine from pallets. The wood is usually rougher than what you'd buy, which is great, and often one side will have live edges, also great!

Great cause mate. I am building a rock cruiser cause in my back yard. I landscaped my backyard many years ago to look like a forest and I have built a rock cause with around 2 to 3 ton of moss rock. I have a Suzuki Jimny V3 and a Hosim 9156 monster truck and a Toyota FJ40 and I am 61 years old and haven't worked so hard for at least 25 years building this rock cause and it is all thanks to watching you guys doing reviews and seeing what you do with the causes you build and take things on and my Suzuki Jimny V3. I can't wait to finish it and do a review myself with the three RCs I have.

Ha! Yes! This truck had seen some hard times and the driveline was a little rusty.
@JonathanHenry-xy7or10 ай бұрын
The horrible, clicking noise drives me away from this video entirely. It’s not just a rusty driveline bud.
@RoadsideRC10 ай бұрын
@JonathanHenry-xy7or It is a rusty driveline. Specifically a rusted rear driveshaft coupler. I could put WD40 on it, and it would go away for a short time.

Great advice. Very easy way to make some cool obstacles. I’m planning on building a crawler course this winter in the backyard. I’ve been stealing ideas from my local HobbyTowns course. I have a lot of natural areas to crawl but I have so much space in my backyard why not? Hope you and your family enjoyed the holiday 🎄🎄👊👊👍👍
@RoadsideRC3 жыл бұрын
Go for it! Having a backyard course has been super valuable! With all of the videos I do on modifying crawlers and testing parts - it gives me a stable location where I can set a baseline - change the part - then test again. My biggest suggestion would be variation. Don't just do a pile of rocks. Think about what each obstacle might test as you make it.
@MudOregonVet Жыл бұрын
I don't know if you already made the video, but after seeing your tire video with the defender and this video I would really like to see just a walk-through of your backyard crawler course to help give me ideas for mine

Looks awesome!!! Just beginning my son and I’s course. Want to build this. If I have to buy pickets, what would be a good dimension for them? Thickness and with? Obviously I’m not a woodworker lol.
@RoadsideRC Жыл бұрын
Hi there! To make your life easier - I wouldn't buy the pickets as you then have to cut them down to size like I did. I think at a lot of the stores you can get some 1x2 lumber for rather cheap. Maybe even some 1x1. Something like that would help you skip a step or two.

What was the clicking noise in your truck?
@RoadsideRC3 жыл бұрын
It has to be something in the transmission, but I haven't found it yet!
