I have a MST 2.5 w a stock gyro. Can you pls share how to configure radio to be able to adjust the gyro gain? The transmitter I have also has a built in gyro but not planning on using it. TIA

The initial bed leveling is manual. It then does an auto-check based on that before each print.

Ok so... I'm new to the drift thing and was just gifted a MST RMX 2.0 with the Hobbywing XD10 and Justock 10.5 motor. Turn buckles have been installed on all four corners. I'm assuming shocks are stock. One will NOT keep fluid in it. LOL About par for the course with me and oil shocks. Can you give me any advice on what to do as far as adding mods to the chassis? What would be a good budget servo to get me going? What are some good magnet body mounts to use on it? Is the front foam bumper necessary? (Doesn't have one at the moment.) Does the ESC need to be mounted all the way to the rear? It's mainly under the transmission, little forward and to the right, now. Chassis is all stock plastic, now. Does it help having carbon fiber components? I'm planning on (knowing me) dumping way too much money in it but, I want my rigs to be well put together and with quality components. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That is a lot of questions - let me see if I can make this simple: 1) Servo: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZuTiJynZ7Cdgqc 2) Body mounts: alnk.to/hswGxLX 3) Foam bumper - your choice 4) ESC- your choice 5) Weight - lower weight, and moving weight to the rear is always better for performance, but not necessary to just have fun Other - The BEST upgrade at this point - is the driver. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. What I most commonly see is new folks throwing a bunch of parts at a drift car without ever learning how to drive in the first place. - Many "upgrades", especially for the MST, don't really improve performance - MST chassis tend to have a performance ceiling. Don't spend too much money on this car. Use it to learn, and then upgrade to a different chassis later. (MST fans really hate me when I say that - but just look at the results from most drift comps....you just don't see MST around). Did I mention practice was important? :) Have fun!

@RoadsideRC greatly appreciated. I just want to get it going first. LOL Probably leaving the motor and ESC alone. Once I get the servo mounts and a servo, I'm gonna give it hell trying to teach myself how to do the stuffs. I watch your videos all the time hoping to glean some knowledge from you. You do awesome work so, PLEASE keep it up!!! LOL

If they'll put up with the racket I might bring my Mad Crusher GP out there someday. Shelbyville is a hell of a drive to make in a 54 year old Chevy but hey, might be worth it once or twice!

Indoors, I am guessing no nitro - that would be miserable in that metal building. Once they get the outdoor setup - it might be fun.

@@RoadsideRC I'll give them a poke. I may be down from time to time. It's about a hour and a half straight down US231 for me, so while it isn't something I can just pop into after work on a whim, it is something I can get to from time to time I do have an Orlandoo M-02 and an SCX224 but I don't need to travel an hour and a half to crawl them. I can do that in my own house if I want, or my own yard. They're small enough. Also have a tracked trail rig project...lower half of a Heng Long M4 Sherman with the cab of a WPL D12...that I could take down there but I think the metal tracks will slide on the rocks too much for it to be all that fun on the indoor course.

If you could only get ond RC, would you get the Hosom X-15 the X-08 or the Arrma Gorgan ??
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC Күн бұрын
Oooof. That is really tough. The X15 and X08 are both 4WD - which can help a lot with traction and terrain. The X15 and X08 are also both brushless out of the box. I do NOT like the X15 outrunner motor setup.... Looking at my Hosim X08 video....I put it through TORTURE and it came out great. 100% would go that route. Just know - it is what it is. Not really any upgrading you would do to it.

@ the POM wheels will wear out. The springs on the bed need to be swapped to rubber bushings or level will be lost over time (I think the prolonged heat softens them over time). Sometimes the Z axis rod bends and the print head gets lose. These are issues I have had with my Neptune 4 max over the last 5 months. Yeah it works great at first then you just gotta keep up with it. Invest in 0.05mm metal feeler gauges to level the bed to the best it can be as per can deform etc when testing.

I do have a little tip for everyone...at work we have gaffers tape. I've never seen it before, but it's heavy mesh like duct tape, but unlike duct tape, it doesn't leave adhesive behind when you take it off. The stuff is magic. It's so nice that I bought a $20 roll for my buddy why helps me with rc helicopters. He does a lot of work and would use it a lot, and he had also never heard of it. Gaffers tape, awesome stuff!

I've had a t maxx 3.3 for years, but this truck is SICK!! But, the front driveshaft has two joints, the rear of the two on mine is wearing after not much use. The wear is in the cup where the pin touches it. When i run it on the stand, that joint makes a bad noise and seems like it's somehow randomly interfering, causing wear and making noise. There is an o ring in there so i don't know what to do? Also, the front diff had grease coming out after first run? Help!?!?

Hey Troy, I just watched the video for this car. I mean I'm green when it comes to this drift RC world. But I watch your videos and I watch a lot of other people's videos. I want to compare this to the traxxas drift and the team associated drift that came out not too long ago. Just watching the video. It looks like with that turning angle so much better. It controls better but you drive them so it'll be interesting to see when you get one in your hands. What you really think about it like you said it's hard to tell from the video videos are there to make them desirable for us to buy. Cheers bud

there are so many things that are not in this video. You have to check out a FPV drone channel to know all the possibilities. You don't talk about sounds and warnings, you don't talk about a lot of things that are on this amazing radio. The telemetry only sends 50mW back to your radio, but the transmitter power is 250mW, so you have control without telemetry for a very long time after the telemetry is gone. no more crappy radios that come with models, elrs will change everything for this kind of radio. and if everything is accepted, there will be no crappy radios with rc cars, and that money will be put elsewhere, there will be an elrs receiver and that's it. that's also why there are so many models! and there is a Multi-protocol version that can control all protocols of all cars or boats of all brands. it can be interesting if you want to control any toy or other model you already have, with this version, it is possible (the 4 in 1 I think..) but you lose the elrs and its power.. so in my opinion, as for drones, this will change everything. Radiomaster is only the first, but there will be other brands that will do it.. also, the internal elrs module says that it can not exceed 250mw, but I think it is just a question of hardware and cooling. if you cool the internal module well, I am sure that we can have the 1w of power provided that we have a good airflow and an internal micro fan. then there is the base for external TX modules, so it is almost unlimited. great for fpv in rc car!!!!

Wow! I bought an Elegoo Max a few days ago and I have been loving it. Have a Longer LK5 Pro and the Elegoo is a definite upgrade. I spent about an hour leveling it and my first benchy came out perfect. Good choice on this one and good thing you didn't go with Bamboo with the recent issues they have. I don't use the big fan also and so far my prints are good. Also is your keypad magnetic? Mine is not and it keeps falling off at the slightest bump so I used RC magnets.
