I am finally starting to bake the fabulous Christmas bakes from 2021 - baked this one today. I applied the no-knead method to the recipe and results were deliciously wonderful. A nice soft interior with lovely raisins scattered throughout, with delicately crunchy sliced almonds and a sprinkling of powdered sugar for added sweetness. Hoping I can bake more from the 2021 Christmas set soon. (#256) Photos have been posted.

I also overdid it with the almonds; I personally think it looks best like that. Thank you for the recipe!

Around 4:20, you smacked the dough back down to pick up a fallen raisin. Very satisfying to know you leave no raisin behind

Write me something about Yourself and I will respond!!!!! You are very good at what You do!!!! I just have a problem to make a sourdough starter. I don't know if it's climate or me, but probably me... I thank You for reading this! Oh and by the way I am Czechoslovakian. Sincerely Tony

I find it interesting that you are one of the very few English speakers that can say Vánočka like a native would.

Could you make the dough in a bread maker?
@ChainBaker3 жыл бұрын
You could definitely make it in a mixer, but I'm not sure about a bread making machine as I have not had any experience with one of them

Those elves are simultaneously cursed and adorable. But seriously, this bread reminds me of that "Shtolen" bread. Stolen? Anyway, this is very similar except this is braided.

Stollen is quite a lot heavier and contains a lot more fruit and stuff. This is like 'stollen-light' 😅

@@ChainBaker The few times I've had it at xmas parties it's been pretty dry. I can see it being delicious if done correctly. Thanks

@@RolloTonéBrownTown I'm Czech and my mother was a fairly accomplished baker. She often lamented that she could not get close to what the Czech Vánocka was because of the wheat available in the West. I do remember that it was subtly different but liked it both ways. It however is in NO way similar to stolen.
